It might be worth getting in touch with Katya. I think she has some experience in this, if I remember correctly.

I contacted a few universities by email. I just used the email that was on the website. They normally have someone whose responsibility it is to deal with such requests, so the email gets passed to them. X

I too am doing this but with photography and will write something along these lines:

    Dear Head of Faculty,

I am getting married on the 27th of April 2015 and would really love to offer a 3rd year photography student the opportunity to gain some work experience and work on a real job. I am ideally looking for someone who has access to their own transport due to the rural locality of the church and reception venue which are in Higham and Cooling, near Medway.

I am more than willing to cover the costs of petrol and printing and/or disc of any photographs taken. Although I would like to have copies of all images taken, copyright of the images would remain that of the student to enable them to start building a portfolio and/or be used in their final piece.

The student will be working on their own, allowing them to express their creativeness and will also work alongside our other photographer. We would like to meet with any students that you deem suitable so that we can discuss our requirements and meet the student in person and get to know them.

We look forward to hearing from you,
    Many thanks,

Something along these lines but will change is nearer the time :)x

Hey ladies, i have a post on.my wedding planning diary regarding this. I have not secured a student yet, however i did get to chat with my old.singing tutor who is now head of music regarding a band. (we decided to go with a dj in the end before even meeting with the students).

I will however be going with students both from photography courses and film making courses.

The best thigh to do is call the college in question. This is because it is so easy to glance.over a letter/email however not so easy to put off someone on the phone. Just ask to speak with the head of the department you are looking for. Explain your offer to them, including whether you would feed the student if they are there all day. What you would expect. Ask them to pass your details (email address is best) onto any students that are sincere. Give them a response time. Tell them.you would expect to see some examples.of the students work on the outset hence the email address being provided. Then go from there hun. Let them.know the student could.use the photos for their portfolio with the exception of photos of small children ( to protect the kids & respect the parents) & that you simply require a disk of all images.

When speaking with the student you could discuss touch ups/editing.

    Good luck.ladies!
