    Hi,

Me and my partner are getting married on 16/5/15. I am having two bridesmaids and one flower girl. I'm a bit stuck as I feel that it is too early to get the bridesmaids dresses, but I don't feel that I can sort out my colour scheme until I have them. I want to co-ordinate the page boys/flowers/decorations with their colour.
I want my colour scheme to be royal blue/light navy but I have been browsing bridesmaids dresses and can't seem to find many that I like. I'm worried if I start organising other items with the colour then I might not be able to find the dresses to match in with them later on down the line.

But then I'm also thinking if I get the dresses soon then their shape might change and they might not fit properly next year.

Any advice on what you have done or plan to do?

    Thanks!

I'm struggling to decide when to buy bridesmaid dresses too, were going to try some on in July/August to get an idea of what style suits them. Ideally I want to put off ordering them until around 6 months before our wedding & the flower girls I'll hold off as long as possible, as they don't seem to stop growing.
My MOH is a yoyo dieter much like myself, so her weight fluctuates 2-3 dress sizes, my eldest niece has gone up approx 2 sizes this year so I definitely wont be buying to far in advance.

I get married on the 25th of April 2015 and my bridesmaids dresses were the first thing I bought two weeks after getting engaged in august last year. I bought them all in two sizes bigger to allow for weight gain and any baby bumps and they can be taken in nearer the time. As i wanted spring colours I knew these would be hard to find the longer I left it, I saw them in the sale and bit the bullet xx

I'm getting married Febuary 2015 and have mine on order now , like you I was looking for a specific colour for ages and couldn't find anything I liked so the colour changed , they were ordered at the beginning of march and won't be ready till August and any alterations will be done in December. X

How important is it that the dress colour matches the rest of the colour scheme perfectly?

Our colour scheme was red and champagne gold. I personally didn't care about all the reds being an exact same shade so bought things in various shades of red as I went along. Turned out the bridesmaid dresses were more of a pinkish red but for me in the grand scheme of things it really didn't matter. We ordered the bridesmaid dresses from the bridal store 7 months before the wedding and the flower girl dress 3.5 months before.

I get married on 25th April 2015 and my Sister has suggested leaving my Niece's flower girl dress until Jan/Feb next year as she's going to grow a lot before the wedding (she'll be 2 by the time we get married). I don't want to leave my Half Sister's bridesmaid dress that long though, as I think it's going to be difficult to find something for her. Our colours are teal and grey and as she'll be 13 when we get married I don't want anything that's too grown up for her. Thinking of starting shopping for hers in November time when the guys have their suit fittings.

Im only having my adult sister as Bridesmaid we are going out in June to have a look at dresses I know exactly what I want and the colour. The colour is non negotiable though but the shape of the dress is. My sister wont be pregnant (Unless its a happy accident) as she want to be married before kids. Im hoping we find something in June and then I can order it or at least know what we want and wait to see if there is any offers but I want that sorted next. I don't mind getting it early as my sister is a size 12 and even if she were to put on a lot of weight she is strict and would take it back off fairly quickly but she doenst tend to yoyo x

I was thinking around six months for the bridesmaids and 3 months for the flower girls & page boy so that they definitely dont grow too much lol. Even six months seems a long time for the bridesmaids but I'll start to panic if I dont have them sorted :-/

As I said before my 3 sons will be involved in the wedding. My 7 year old as a mini-best man and the 3 year old and 1 year old as page boys.
I was in M&5 today and bough gorgeous 4 piece suits in navy linen for the younger two. They don't do the same style/colour for the older one.
I would prefer to have all 3 boys matching but think it will be difficult because he comes in older boys wear. Would it look silly to have the younger ones in the navy to match along with the bridesmaids and then have the older one in black to match the groom?

I've just received my BM dresses - we're getting married mid-October. Not quite sure what to do about my youngest ones suit, he's 11 (12 just before the wedding) and his growing spurts are so unpredictable it's a nightmare! Think I'll leave it another couple of months

I'm having royal blue, and my MOH is making the dresses. Royal blue fabric is easy to come by. If you go through a bridal store you'll probably find that there are a number of colour options. Also a website that I'll post on my wall (I can't post it on your wall as your profile is private not public). The dresses are a bit more affordable than bridal shops. You might find though that when the winter collections come out there will be more available. I would set your colour scheme, I'm sure you will find something. You could always consider putting the dresses in a different but complimentary colour and having royal blue accessories.
