Hi everyone I have just booked my package wedding which my photographer is included in, fantastic! I thought until I sat down & properly read the small print. My package includes an engagement shoot with a print, photos all day & a disc of all my pics & a canvas. No album, I was quite surprised at first but I'm now thinking that really expensive bit about photography so it kind of makes sense. What I want to know is has anyone ever made there own albums on line like through v!st@ print for example? I seen they have different ones you just make yourself & they print it. Story book style, 100 pics etc. Do you think I could cut corners this way & do my own album or would this be an area I may regret skimping on? Thanks in advance :)

We did ours on photob0x. Got a 342 deal so got a big one for us and 2 smaller ones for my mum and hubby's parents. Worked well for us - exactly what we wanted and for a fraction of the price that a photographer would have charged us. Got the whole lot for around £70.

I was thinking making my own would be a nice touch but i'm scared I'll mess it up & regret it! I also won a £150 voucher off a photo package (which start at £900) at a wedding fare, this is a completely different company than the one in the package, I know I can alter different parts of the package as I want, e.g. I'm going to a different florist but It's still going to be a lot of money & £150 won't put a dent in it really. Just so scared I'll regret making a decision like this, my perfect wedding vs my budget haha

Make sure that you get the copyright for the images on the disc. Some of them will give you a disc of the images but keep the photo license and copyright, meaning that you can't print the photos professionally elsewhere without proof that they have given you permission to do so (its another sneaky way for them to make sure you have to have them do any printouts!) xxx

i did my own album and it was £50 from t£sco's and its gorgeous, took me a while to do it but i took my time over it and its fantastic!!!
our package was £500 and we didnt get an album either

our photogrpher is £695 and we get ; pre-wedding shoot, full day of photographer taking pics, album, disc, 2 parent books and a guest book and think we also get a large print of one photo too... :)

Phot0b0x is the best company I have ever dealt with, we are using the bro-in-law for pics as we cannot afford a photographer and when the photo company has a good deal on and we can afford it I will get some albums made up... Until then they will just be on a disc for us to view...

The online software on PB is really easy to use and you can save it and go back to it, the quality is good and if you have any problems at all then they are really good at sorting them!
They have a group on FB where you can win vouchers etc in competitions regularly - I have won a few things xx

My sister had her album made through v!st@pr!nt and got 3 copies of the album (one for her and BIL, his parents and our parents) which looked gorgeous for under £100! You can get lovely albums made yourself after and gives you a nice little project to do once all the wedding excitement has settled, you're back from honeymoon and you can also choose what you want to go in without feeling under any time pressure so can really think which shots you want included x

My friend had hers done online and her book is lovely. I've the same package as you have minus the engagement shoot and that's costing 350 so I think you've got a good deal. :)

I would do it online, albums are pure profit for the photographer and have an insane markup. There are so many online options.

Thanks for your replies. I'm going to ring the photographer & price an album but I'd say it'll be a DIY job for me. Will give me something to do when the wedding hype is over :)
