hi ladies just been to my first app. with a florist and well lets just say they are not as cheap as i thought. im yet to get a quote as she is costing it up for me and sending it via email over the w/e. i have asked for my bouquet, 3 bm flowers, 2 flower-girl wands, 11 buttonholes including grooms, 4 corsages for ladies, 8 martini glass center pieces, top table flowers and individual flowers for pew ends. also the pillars in our venue to be decorated. she showed me her portfolio which is out of this world and she TOTALLY got what i wanted and more!! heres the thing... i thought i would be spending about £500-£600 on flowers and she has told me that the martini glasses are £75 each..ouch! so thats £600 just for those without anything else on that so far. obviously i am going to shop around and get more quotes but i am just wondering what all you ladies paid for flowers and what you got for your money?

Also the big advantage to wooden roses is the amount of colours they come in!

But if you're not as in love with them as petra and I then is there any way you could use silk flowers for the centrepieces, and do them yourself?

We're having martini glass table flowers and they cost the same as yours. Overall my flowers are going to come to around £570 for my bouquet, an adult and child bouquet plus child's basket, a long low arrangement for the top table and buttonholes (we're not sure how many we're having yet).

I have been quoted £650-£800 for my flowers,

Iv changed my centre pieces and i am going to have painted glass with candles and maybe couple with flowers, this may cost me a little more than what my centre pieces would have been but i am doubling them up as presents and they will be more unique,

Button holes i will prob get of the bay of e as they will be cheaper, thinking of having thistles and they will tie in with the purple theme!

I am not having bridesmaids bouquets, instead i will be having coursages for my bridesmaids, saving on bracelet prices and they are half the price the bouquets were gonna be.

I Just need to price up for Pew Ends, My bouquet, and an arrangement for my aunties grave.

One of the tips my florist told me was to find my own vases and jugs and things to put my flower arrangements in so I'm not paying to hire any vases. Between me, my mum and my auntie we have got loads of stuff that was just sitting unused in their houses and quite a few charity shop finds. Then my florist is just charging for the flowers to go in them, between £15 and £25 each arrangement, we have some pretty large vases, about 45cm high and 20 cm across, so am preally pleased with this price, means we can have flowers everywhere!

TBH with the flowers I want (peonies, roses, hydrangeas, sweet peas and stocks) I was expecting it to be a lot more expensive, so yippee, get to have my venue festooned with flowers :)

I was quoted £750 for mine......a bit expensive I thought, but I am needing at least 14 table arrangements (they are small square vases and I'm having 2 on each table) Anyway, I tried the local nursery and a very old gentleman is now doing my bouquets and buttonholes etc for no more than £150......one of my friends is doing my table decs. Try your local nurseries you might get a pleasant surprise!!!!
