It varies, my hair is free and bridesmaid is a hairdresser but make up is £150 and that's for a full trail, make up on day and eyelashes. I think I could have found it cheaper but really liked the lady and saved money from my hair so spent on make up instead xxx

I could be worth going and getting some trials done at make up counters in departments stores or that high street chemist chain, get some tips and advice on what suits you and do the make up yourself? x

I've had quotes of 150 for hair just for me which is extortionate! Need to find someone cheaper :)

I've been quoted around £350 by 2 different people for both hair and make up for me and my 3 bridesmaids. My venue is quite far out so that includes travel as well. I wasn't sure if that was good or not but it seems to be compared to other sites I've looked at!

Shop around & get plenty of quotes some places charge silly amounts xxxxx

I'm doing my own makeup as I feel like having too many people fussing about me on the day will only lead to more stress...plus I want my makeup to be fairly natural and I just don't see the point when I can do it quite well myself...
On the flip side off that, good quality long stay make up can be quite expensive, I reckon it'll probably not work out much cheaper tbh xx

My make-up is costing £185 for trial and on-the-day, hair I'm not sure yet, but anything from £100-150, again for trial plus on the day, plus travel. So, £300 ish for both?

Got a friend at work who going to charge me £50 for me and MOH to have make up done, my aunt who is a hairdresser going to do MOB and younger BM (her daughter) hair and make up. Going to get a friend of hers who specialists in wedding hair to do mine and MOH who will charge.

As for nails and waxing etc, going to ask Spa where I work see if they will give me an extra discount to what I normally have as I am 'bulk' buying as they say.

Hoping no more than £150 in total for everything.

    xxx

Yep! I'm finding the same issue! Problem is that my hairdresser wants £60 per hour to travel from Chelt to my venue near evesham... Then £80 for my hair on the day, £50 for trial. The prob is that I dont know anyone in Evesham and not sure I can trust someone I dont know.I also have to pay for 2 bridesmaids! On the upside, I have a friend who is a beautician who will do my make up cheap....

Well, I found one lady at a fair that I really liked. She was a wedding specialist and Im pretty sure she didnt charge a travel fee. Tried to book her but she was on hols on my date :-( I can give you her details if you like. Her hair ideas were amazing. Really different (in a good way!!) I found I am much more comfortable picking people I get on with (and will calm me on the day!) I spoke to a lady from one of the top places in Chelt and hated her attitude.... She had a book of wedding styles from the 80's and said you can have any of these!! I can give you the details of a couple of good hairdressers in town, (one I use to cut my hair regularly) and another who I met at a fair and really liked them.... Felt they would listen. Either way, with the professionals, whether I pick the guys I noramlly use, or the others I think I am going to end up paying for the trip.... It sucks completely! x

I'm paying £120 for my hair and make up on the day, £65 for the trial. My bridesmaids will be £65 for hair and make up on the day. Its much more than I thought I'd be paying but she comes recommended from one of my bridesmaids who got married recently and to be honest I couldnt find much cheaper! Bridesmaids are paying for their own luckilly!!! xx

Sme of these fees sound quite reasonable. I'm in bristol, and at the moment a number of places are coming in at 150-200 for my hair and make up on the day. Bridesmaids near 100 for both. It's crazy!

I'll be spending just under £300 for me and two BM's to have hair and makeup. The makeup and hair lady though is amazing, she did my sisters wedding and she also works for London Fashion Week on the models so I think I'm getting a brilliant package and price xx

If she wants on day just pay an extra £25.
