Hope you b2bs can help me with this one! I'm a bit confused about food tastings. We have been told that food tastings normally take place three months before the wedding and that you can only taste the options you have selected. So this might sound thick, but is the purpose of a food tasting to see what the food will be like on the day and not to choose the items you want on the menu? I guess it is.. And are you sending out the menu choices in with your invitations?

I'd like to know this too... We were told by our caterer we don't have one but I'd want to know what it tastes like before I get it!x

We have ours 2 weeks before, which I'm not happy about, especially as we need to make our choice on Friday!

with our venue we go 3 months before and we taste the options they set out, and we choose from that and everyone has that our the veggie options
Ours is 4 months before, it would have been 3 but that would be over christmas and they will be too busy. x

Our venue has 3 wedding fayres a year where tasting is available, we've already been to two and tried everything, we keep popping in at random times and having a meal too, every meal has been fantastic so far! No ones mentioned an official menu tasting tho, ill have to look into that x Were sending out our menus with the invites, every course has 3 options, then a separate veggie option, everything needs to be finalised no later than 2 weeks before the wedding date. We also have a wedding website where guests can rsvp and choose menus xx

We didn't have a tasting!! We originally had 9 choices per course and had to limit this to 5 choices per course for the guests. We found our venue after eating at the hotel restaurant when we visited Gretna - and after experiencing the food we knew it was the right place.

We had a food tasting session in December ready for our wedding in July. We tried a bit of everything to decide what we wanted and so we'd have our choices to put on the invites. Seems strange you only get to try once you've decided?! X

we had 4 different options for each course and had our menu tasting in Feb so 3 - 4 months before the day. We got to choose 2 options for each course to try. Even thou we knew what starter we defo wanted we chose two just to compare and double check. Same with main - but we need 1 fish and 1 meat so had 1 of each to try. then with dessert we sort of knew what we wanted but chose another as we could and meant got to try 2 different ones, and now in a pickle as love both!! Still got to confirm our dessert choices by the final meeting in April.
