She lives in Turkey so we only see her maybe once or twice a year.
Her parents paid for her wedding and as is customary in Turkey, they gave his sister and her husband their share in the apartment they owned with his sister (it is custom for the brides family to by the couple a home to live in).
She's always grated on me a little anyway - she's 37 and acts like a 7 year old "Mum, buy me this" "Dad buy me that" and to me it's pathetic how his parents mampy pamper her.
Anyway, the day before our wedding it's her birthday. That day's already been taken over by his mum saying that they will be arriving at so and so time and they will do this and that (with oh) for her birthday and blah blah blah.... almost ignoring the fact that it's the day before our wedding and we will have a lot to do!
Anyway, last night i posted on book of face about the room and bubbly I have got from the hotel due to the problems we had and her response was "is that for my birthday" I responded with no - yours is behind the bar waiting to be paid for! She then insisted I buy her a drink as it's her birthday. I said "what along with the 3 course meal, glass of bubbly, 2 glasses of wine and pie and peas we've paid for for you" to which she responded "well you did invite me to your wedding, I dont expect to pay for anything" I said well we've spent 6 grand on a wedding so no money to buy ppl extra drinks to which she replied "i know weddings are a lot - chill!"
I told OH and he said "well at least we're paying for our own wedding!"
I sent her a message saying I'll only see you briefly the night before anyway as I'm going out for a meal and it seemed to clam down her nastiness......
Am I being stupid over this? I just feel like she is going to be taking over our day. We have already accomodated her needs with our nephew such as making sure she can have a travel cot in the room in the evening and high chairs and stuff, along with her husband's dietry requirements (he is muslim). Am i being unreasonable?
I really did marry my Mr Wright and we had a nice day for a
Wright wedding!

No I don't think you are at all, she should be happy with the drink shes getting at the wedding. Don't think some people realise how expensive they are, especially if they have not had to pay for their own. Just have to tell her you have a birthday every year, I will only get married once! X x

Sounds like my FSIL! I don't think you're over reacting at all. People like that always get made when you call them on their s**t

Sounds very much like a drama queen to me, very much a it's all about me person! I have a friend like that who no doubt will try and upstage me on the day. Why can they not just let it go for once and let someone else have the glory.
