Two of my best friends have decided that they are organising my Hen Weekend which is great, but one of them has just told me that the other (who's my Maid of Honour) doesn't want to go away abroad for my Hen weekend, she has said that she doesn't want to go abroad and leave her twin girls who are my flower girls, my other friend has said that she's going to try and win her round, but to be honest I don't think she will, so it looks like we are going to have to have my Hen Night at the races (which was the first option). The only thing is I was really looking forward to having it abroad, I haven't been on holiday for 6 years and me and h2b aren't having a honeymoon straight away so I was really looking forward to it.
Am I being selfish feeling a little let down, as i'm going to be leaving my 3 boys behind when I go. My other friend says that we should just still go abroad but I don't want to upset my Maid of Honour xx

Can you not have a hen weekend here? you can create weekends with different companies and there are holidays etc. you can do all sorts of things, studio time, burlesque nights, paintballing, 80s nights, loads of different ideas.

i dont think your selfish at all, however i couldnt leave my kids here whilst going abroad, im too close to my kids and i honestly would not enjoy it, i would be looking forward to going home.

however, if you could create a hen package in the country but not too close to home then it would still be a holiday but everyone that you want there would be able to go and may be cheaper than going abroad anyway.

if you would like me to find the website im thinking of then just ask and i will post it to my wall.

Could you do two, one abroad and one more local?
That's what I'll be doing, a long weekend away with a few girls that I know can afford it and a night out closer to home for those that can't - means you get the best of both worlds and can celebrate with everyone :) xx

I think if you really want to go abroad for YOUR hen do, then you should. If your maid of honour does not want to go, then I dont see how she should get upset by it. Especialy if there is more people who want to go abroad then there is that doesn't. I dont see how it would be fair, for 1 person to get there way and all the rest have to suffer.

It's a difficult one...if the plan was always to go abroad, and then suddenly now it's a problem, then I can understand why you're not happy. Could you still have your hen abroad and then maybe just a night out at home for any that can't make the main one?

Thanx for all your adivice girls, I think i'm going to chicken out of the decision on this one and let my friend sort it out, maybe she may be able to either convince my MOH to go abroad or talk her into being fine if we go without her x

No harm in letting someone else take responsibility for something ;)
