i have just come back from appointment with florist ... nearly fell off my chair with the qoute i was given !! any one know cheaper ones in hertfordshire area ??

we have gone for silk as both suffer from hayfever. Were getting 2 bridesmaids, mine 4 double and 3 single buttonholes and a table dec for £130 something. Have you thought of silk or a mixture of silk and real?

1x bouquet for me 3x bouqeut for bridesmaids 8x button holes for all the men 2 x corsages for mothers 4x very small arrangements for staircase 3x top table arrangements 10 x guest tables 1 cake flower and 2 x thank you flowers for mothers

Its the decorations that increase the price. If you look at alternatives for centrepieces, the staircase and top table it will be a lot more affordable.

OMG!!!! I never even realised how much they charged! My sister is a florist so she is doing my flowers for me as a present so I can count myself VERY lucky. Do you really need the flowers for the tables and staircase? There are some lovely things you can put on the table to replace them. Some are ever so cheap too! Thats gonna save you a hell of a lot of money x

i think that's steep for what you would like, you should ask mrs bouquet on this site she'll know better..also definately shop around, don't jump in, and as dove said i would think about alternatives for the stairs and center pieces. maybe only 1 for the top table. some venue's include flowers for the top table, check with them if its a hotel. xx

have you tried any shops? i'm in the herts area and there's an place in hoddesdon which i think is reasonable but not sure, my friend went on a floristry course in herts so i might look into the cost of that and do the flowers myself if poss x

im paying 500 for my bouquet, 8 bridesmaids, 10 buttonholes, 2 mums, 12 arrangements and flowers on pedastals in the church, and thank u bouquets for 2 mums, thought it was expensive hun but looking at yours think i have a good deal x

Take your quote from florist to florist, my friend got her first quote and took it to every shop in the area she ended up getting one for 200 quid less. Top wedding tip - Haggle for everything!

omg all that money for flowers ! i dont even like them im giving my bridesmaids clutch bags and i got quoted 60 quid for my flowers of a dozen yellow roses with blue stones in them ( i would rather have a bag too ) lol i havent even thought of flowers for church or venue didnt budget for that will need to squeeze some money out from other things now

That is a lot for flowers, i went to a couple of florists and got quotes and none of them were over £500. My final total for flowers is £352.00 and that is for my hand tied bouquet, 4 hand tied bridesmaid bouquets, rose petals for 3 flowergirls, 12 button holes, 2 corsages, 3 thank you bouquet's, and 2 pedastals for the church and flowers on 10 of my pew ends in the church!
This is the cheepeest i have known for wedding flowers, but it did take a lot of hunting around to get a decent quote, and the florist is lovley and trust her to make beautiful arragments.

I'm getting mine from the famous E site lol im not having fresh flowers we are having silk roses so the bridemaids and i can keep our boquets/posies all in all its costing us about £65.00 and we are going to make button holes ourselves :) xx
