    Hey all,
I was waiting all last week for a call from my venue and still hadnt received one so we went in as hubby 2b is off work. We didnt get to speak to the co-ordinator as she was doing training, but spoke to the manager who said about cutting it down to save the money as I explained my parents are now paying for everything. He said be ruthless they do a package for 50 guests for £1000 then you can have all the eveing guests can still come. He said if he did his wedding again he wouldnt have invited so many as he hasnt seen them again since.

We came home thinking we should do it for 50 and all the guests on the night as it would save the parents money but thought it would be really hard to cut people off etc we did it in about 5 minutes. Im so glad we did too. If people dont understand then its tough they dont have to come at all but the people i have spoke to already about it have been fine. just now need to get different invites made for evening only so glad i hadnt got round to sending them all out though x

I know how you feel I've just had to do the same but if you have no choice its got to be done. The man at your venue has given you some sound advice because if they are'nt relatives or close friends most people just come for the food or to have a nosey at your exspence.

well the guy was lovely... he said that its our wedding but how many of them even sent us a xmas or bday card and our reply was probs about 5 lol... he said just cut it to 50 adults for the day as the kids are cheaper to sort anyway so they dont count. He said people worth carring about will respect our wish for day or evening only anyway and how they'll understand. We was also on about getting a bouncy castle for the kids and he said its not worth it as it will turn into a kdis party as the kids end up dominating. he said go to pound land get some crayons and colouring books, and they'll set up a table just for the kdis, he said if we want he will personally do a wrapped present for pass the parcel that we can get the dj to sit them on the dance floor and play it lol xx

Thats a good idea I think. Our wedding reception room only holds 50, so its only our family, and three best friends coming, but to the evening all our other friends and other family members are invited :) it really does keep the costs down and we wanted a more intimate wedding anyways. A few people were dissapointed with our choice but then it doesnt matter its not other peoples wedding day :) xx

We could defiantely find 100+ friends and family to feed at our wedding, but we decided we didnt want to. end of!

If we had invited all the cousins and aunties etc, we might not have been able to afford to have our wedding at our dream venue. by cutting it down to 20........we were able to afford it, and to choose what we wanted off the menu and not have to pick the cheapest.

I would prefer to indulge 20 guests with a fantastic menu, rather than conservatively feed 100+ for the same money.

I had to cut people off my list as well and I have also had to say to some people if they can come without their children just to save on costs.
