if i had a daughter who was 16 i definatly wouldnt be letting her get married... she could plan it all she wanted but id make her wait till she was old enough to do it without my permission lol, i mean at 16 i was sayin id never get married or have kids now here i am 6 years later doing the complet opposite, i dont think many 16 year olds are responsible enough to get married xx

Ok i met my ex husband at 16 and married him at 18 so im all for people knowing what they want at that age, granted 14 years and 2 kids later we did get divorced (he admitted to an affair) but i don't regret it or i wouldnt have my girls. HOWEVER, I've talked it over with them both and told them under no circumstances will i let them get married before their 20th birthdays, if they find the one before then, then a few years of waiting to get married will make their relationship stronger in my opinion.
As for the big gypsy wedding dresses, well i hate dresses in general lol and have only ever worn 2 in my adult life (my sisters wedding and my own lol) BUT If thats what YOU like then i say go for it but don't let your family make you wear something you hate because thats what gypsy weddings entail. Gypsy or not this is YOUR wedding so go for what YOU want.

Absolutely hails. Amy - you said you don't really like the dresses but you will have one and the bigger the better? I don't quite understand. The documentary I was watching said that some girls have scars on their hips from their dresses. One girl had a nice fitted dress, all be it with a 20 foot train! I think it's a little scary when your dress weighs more than you!!! x

I just think at 16 you are still a kid, no way would I allow my girls to get married that young. At that age you still need to be educated. I will be 30 (sighs dramatically at this) in December & we have 2 babies & I know for a fact although I'm still one of the girls & don't feel much different to when I was a teenager I know I am a different person to who I was then. If I got married at 16, I'd hate to think who I would be married to (or not as the case would probably be).

Sian I am saying it is for people that truly understand the meaning of love, yes I know it sounds like a very sweeping statement to say that 16 year old's do not know what they want but I would be inclined to say 99% of them don't, I bet if each and every one of us think back to the BOY we were with at 16, would you of still been with him now? NOW on the other hand if you meet someone at a very young age and happen to still be with that person 5 or 10 years down the line then decide to get married well that is different, you are old enough to judge if marriage is right for you. TOO MANY PEOPLE IN THIS DAY AND AGE JUMP INTO MARRIAGE FOR ALL THE WRONG REASONS, big weddings, big dresses, stupid amount of money being thrown at them and WHY???? Too many people don't know the meaning of true love...!!!!!!!!!!!
