Acceptances are now at 42 and my aunt and uncle have asked if there son/wife and their kids can come too, which we hadnt planned on. We've only had one couple say so far they can't come at the beginning. Also stil waiting on 16 r.s.v.p's. So we could have as many as 62 people. Scary! Last year we were stressing that we may not make the minimum 50 guests required by our old venue! Don't get me wrong, it's so nice that so many people want to fly out to Cyprus to join us for our day, and all out of their own pocket.
We were planning on a la carte meals or meze at the night time after the drinks reception on the boat as we believed we only had a small group to pay for at first but its becoming that way we are now thinking of a buffet type meal or barbeque. Only thing is we feel that guests may expect more after making the journey. Do we bite the bullet and carry on with the sit down meal idea? Any ideas or opionions ladies? xxx

wow how lovely, the more the merrier i say, not sure what to suggest i suppose also it depends on how hot it will be there, would u want a sit down meal if your really hot or just a really nice buffet ? Could you put some feelers out to see what people are expecting ? may help you decide.

Dont feel presure to overspend you could always explain to your aunt/uncle that you have only budgeted for an amount of people to the meal but if they really want to come maybe they could contribute to the meal cost they have got a year to save up, just say theyre more than welcome to come but you just dont have the funds, and see what happens. this happened at my sisters wedding in canada and extended family members wanted to come and they all paid for themselves in the end as they wanted a holiday and to wish her well for the day, good luck

agree with madison dont feel like u have to spend more then u were planning xx
Thanks ladies for your comments. We can afford the sit down meal and were not trying to be tight as such more a case of being careful. We are waiting to move into a bigger house so we can foster as well as space for our own lil tribe of mayhem makers. We don't want to move again so our next house will hopefully be our happily ever after house. Until then we are watching every penny. I agree the more the merrier...that was my motto at the beginning when I thought the maximum would be 30 lol. Well I guess we should plan a sit down meal for the max of 62 and budget accordingly. I am still hoping a few of the ones yet to return r.s.v.p's may send back a regret r.s.v.p. Awful thing to say I know. lol (-: xxx
