How many of you ladies are having guest books at the wedding?? Are they essential? Also im thinking of buying a wedding planning book to help me out with things. Are these handy? Does anyone else have 1 and if so did they find the book helpful. im so confused on where to begin and everything that goes alot with it. Plz help in my small dilema xx

I know a lot of the brides on here say they wouldnt be without a wedding planning book. At the moment Im writing in notepads but going thru so many pads I may invest in one. We are having a video guest book where guests can leave video messages as we cant afford a videographer for the full day. xx

Its all kind of head blagging to me and I find that I get more and more stressed everytime I think about nother thing I have to think about. There is so much to do and to keep up with Im feeling stressed already just thinking about it. Its alot of hard work isnt it. xx

Im not very good at creative aspects of things tbh. Ive got the imagination but havent got the skills to make ideas into reality. I think personal touches on invatations, save the date cards and things like that look really nice but i havent got the artistic side to make them into reality. xx

I do all my notes in my filofax as I always have that with me, and when I have firm plans i.e things are booked and paid for, I put those details in my wedding planner file (Marks & Spencers, £8!) as keeping that as a momento! Having a guest book but havent chosen one yet!

Me neither Brynie, lol..... I did make a sample invitation the other night and it was horrible!!!!! I need to get lots more practice and my sister will help, shes really good at that sort of thing. It is a lot cheaper to do it yourself, but then if you make lots of mess ups and mistakes, might just cost me more, lol x

It is hard work, but enjoyable most of the time. Im not the most organised so I have a guest list in 1 pad, ideas on cetrepieces in another, flowergirl gift ideas on post it notes. Very stressful. Great thing is tho like me you have quite a while to organise and thats when you have days when all of a sudden you have a great idea about something. You will have days when you completely want someting different to what you thought you wanted and then days when you want to go back to the drawing board and start from scratch again. I think I will stick to pads till closer to the time as I change my mind so often Id make a complete mess of a wedding planner at mo. Get the basics set ie, number of guests, colour scheme, civil or church and reception venue and the rest will fall slowly but surely into place. xx

H2B is very clever artisticly, hes very good at art so im thinking of ropin him into that kind of thing, i can sort of tell him what i want and see what he comes up with. Well whatever he comes up with its bound to look 1000 times better than what i could do xx

This is the thing tho Dee, me & h2b cnt agree on anything, he wants a say in alot of the planning but seems to get abit huffy whenever i suggest something i like. i want the colour scheme as white and pink but hes not having any of it, i even suggested gold bt tht went down like a lead balloon too. I just really cant win with anything atm. i think this is where im getting stressed cuz it seems things i like and the things i suggest jst dont get listened to at all xx

Firstly I am so envioous your h2b has an opinion. If I asked Steve what he thought about anything he just nods and says "whatever" I think quite a few of the b2b on here have the same problem. So hold onto him! We are having claret and ivory but silver accents too ...I think its easier to choose a mettalic colour too as so much ie jewellery has to co-ordinate with dresses etc.,.. Why dont you ask him to write down a few of his ideas ie colours etc.. you do the same and then sit down and work out a compromise. Would 1 of his colours look nice with 1 of your colours? If he writes his ideas down you will see what hes expecting from the wedding too so will give you a good basis from where to start. xx

I want a guest book as I think Guests are an important part of the day, and it's a way of everyone leaving you a fantastic message wishing you well, and it's just another special memory.. afterall you take few things away from the day, the marriage, the rings, the photo's, the dress(although some people choose to sell it), and if you have one - a guest book... not much from the ammount you pay for the big day! xx
