As some of you are probably aware I am currently fighting my ex as he wants access to the boys and they want nothing to do with him!! He was violent whilst we were together and emotionally abused the boys too and hasnt paid anything for them since May last yr!! My eldest told me last Aug he didnt want to see him anymore and was scared of him so I put a stop to contact, we heard nothing expect a letter from his sols asking for it to ressume in Sept until I got a court summons in April! Anyway legal aid came through today saying we have to make a contirbuiton of £98 a month and £1136.95 from our capital as its over the £3k threshold........thing is our capital isnt over that limit, they took the balance of our bank accs on the day they did the claim and used that as capital so in effect have used it twice in disposible income and capital, wish I could use it twice it would go a hell of a lot further. So now Im battling to get this sorted for Thrus (next court date) what a bl**dy nightmare. Sorry I needed to rant!!! xx

been there done all that but got full aid as for kids if they are over 11yr you can demand they be heard by the courts, also demand your ex's medical forms and police file, thats how i won my case coz he was violent to the lass he was with and a police record longer than my height and he wouldn't produce them (meanin he'd lied in court about his mental health and other things )

Hun, you should really get in touch with Mothers for Justice - they helped my sister out no end when she was going through the courts to stop her ex husband seeing her kids - he was also a violent, abusive man who the kids didn't want to see as they were terrified of him xxx

The legal aid system is a mess..........they are trying to do without out and just get rid of it forever! More and more clients are getting turned down for legal aid and so many of our applications get rejected for stupid pathetic reasons. This government are trying to make it so difficult for people to access justice and have a right to a fair trial....
I would strongly recommend that everybody googles soundoffforjustice and subscribe to the petition which they intend to put forward to the government...xx

KayteeG I will see what I can find on them, Ive been told the odds are that I will lose on getting a total no access esp for the youngest 2 who are 5 and 3. My worry is the 3yr old doesnt know this man and has no relationship or bond to him, how can they make him see the sperm donor :-( xx
It would have to be supervised hun as hes not seen them in over a year, I just dont want them to have to go through this awful ordeal. My eldest is already having councelling from what he has been through and seen :-( xx
