I'm looking at sorting my shoes out and I can't decide if I want flats or not, my fiancé is only 3 inches taller so I don't need the height but I want comfort. This is my second wedding and I wore heels last time but by the evening I took them off to give my feet a rest and I couldn't get them back on because my feel just swelled up! This also meant my dress dragged along the floor as it was altered to fit the height of my shoes. Would converse or pumps not be elegant enough? I'm really stumped as to what I want....

I had heels for the ceremony and reception, but once the meal was over I put my cons on.

Did that not make your dress drag along the floor though? Xxx

You can get some really nice flats and add shoe clips to them to sparkle/flower them up a bit. I have low heels I plan on wearing for the ceremony and will then take off to replace with either flat ballet pumps/flipflops/peep toes when dancing. Likely my dress will drag a little but my hoop should keep it out from under my feet.

I've seen beautiful wedding flats and flip flops, many brides on here Get them, I'd say make sure you're comfy all day, I had a heel but made sure they were super comfortable as I didn't want to be suffering on our wedding day.

You can get some really pretty flats
Or shop around and find some comfortable heels.
Practice wearing heels more now if you want to wear heels, as you'll get used to it and find them more comfortable. I wear heels most days for work and sometimes at weekends, I find them really comfy now.

I made sure I broke mine in before the wedding and even had a couple of dance lessons in them.

I broke mine in as well, wore them around the house and kept them stuffed with bubble wrap to keep them stretched out, they were actually really comfy

I can't wait to start wearing mine around the house ;)

Mine didn't need too much breaking in because they really were so comfy, think I got lucky.

Those pearly flats are gorgeous.
You could always compromise and just go for a very slight heel. Should mean you will be comfy in them all day but if you did want to take them off it wouldn't make too much of a difference to the length of your dress.
I couldn't imagine not wearing heels but that's just me. There are some gorgeous flats about.
Happily married

I'm getting some small heels for the day and a pair of flats (or even comfy slippers!) for the evening as the thought of heels all day and all night horrifys me. I saw some lovely small heels in the d3b3nhams sale the other day

There are some beautiful flats available. The most important thing is comfort. Thank god my platforms are really comfy as I'd look stupid in flats as oh is a ft taller than me x
CommentAuthorSprucey
I've small heels as the oh is my height, but I have a lady on the bay making some pretty tulle bows to clip onto my shoes to jazz them up a bit

I am tall and my OH is only 3 inches taller than me so I wasn't going to wear heels but I fell in love with some, they only have about a 2.5 inch heel so I will still be slightly smaller than him. I am then going to get a pair of flats to wear after the ceremony as I do not wear heels very often so want to be comfortable x

I've gone for a slight heel as my H2B isn't much taller than me but I think heels help with the whole walking elegant. I doubt I'll last all day and night in them and so probably will take them off pretty quick lol. But for walking down the aisle I definitely waned heels
CommentAuthorTashaM95
My venue is close to both reception venues I want, so I'll have my heels, but will have Converses for walking between the venues. I'll probably make my bridesmaids carry my dress so it doesn't drag lol
