Well after the change of heart with our venue we have finally confirmed our booking with Balbirnie House Hotel and will get married a week earlier than planned (24th March 2012). Can't believe we've finally booked it after months of chatting about it. I am over the moon.
The ability to book was helped along by the kindness of our friends and family. We had our engagement party last night and along with gifts of towels etc, we were also gifted £350 cash and £150 of vouchers. We were absolutely spoilt and couldn't thank them all enough.

we're looking at paying our deposit next month just to get it out of the way but so far we've prelimanary booked it

That's what we did too, provisionally booked it when we went to see it on Tuesday but we wanted to see all our shortlisted venues before confirming. I think we knew right away which venue we were going to pick but we decided to wait until the weekend to give us time to think about it. xxx
