im getting my aunty to play the harp - but you dont actually need someone to play anything - you can buy cds with things like harp music or violin or quartets or something, or you could just chose your fave pop song/love song.
It's whatever you want.
My brother had a friend of his sing Brian Adams Heaven with no accompniament - and it was beautiful as they got married in a church and the accustics were amazing!
so if you have a friend or family member that can sing well why not ask them to sing a song you both enjoy.

The Wedding by Julie Rogers, From this moment, Shania Twain both my faves but The Wedding sends shivers down my spine! It's an oldie but definately a goodie. On this day, David Pomeranz and Come away with me, Norah Jones. I guess it depends on your music tastes. Are we talking songs or music? I have got a piper which most of my guests are dreading, lol xx
JD is taken so I'll settle for being Mrs Marge :o)

I am coming in to "she" by elvis costello, and we are exiting to "good ridance" by greenday. We will be playing "lets get married" by the proclaimers while our guests arrive and get seated.
CommentAuthorRhiannonollie

this may sound like a stupid question...but we are going to have few differnet music for when guests are entering/ waiting, when i walk in, signing the register and when leaving. how do they play it...do we have to give them the cd's and tell them what song it is on cd? xx
CommentAuthorRhiannonollie
I would give it to one of my guests to look after - a trusted friend - I wouldnt leave it to the church/hotel unless I really trusted them.
Maybe ask a good good friend or one of the ushers - have the CD player next to them, and have all the tracks on one CD so all they have to do is pause - skip - play - pause - skip - play
is soooo happy and lucky
CommentAuthorUnknown
think that maybe my brothers job then. will have to try and download all the songs to one cd xx
CommentAuthorRhiannonollie
as long as he has a piece of paper that literally says
Track 1 - Everyone waiting for bride - song name and artist track 2 - bride entrance - song name and artist track 3 -signing of registra - song name....
etc etc
And pushing a few buttons wont be that hard, and if he's an usher then they should at least expect to be doing a few jobs on the day! and he should be honourd you trust him with such a big thing!
is soooo happy and lucky

oh gosh, listen to me blathering on, I have NO idea what Im doing with my music!

CommentAuthorFaeth
It's a huuuuge list, so might be a bit bewildering - I found a few other sites with ideas on which were a more limited list and mostly had the songs you kind of expected to see there. Think I just googled something like wedding first dance songs - not that this has helped me decide on my music yet - lol

I get to choose my entrance music, so its a surprise to him and he gets to choose the exit music so its a surprise to me! im liking eastmountainsouth, - so you are to me or the chocolat title track its gorgeous! :)
CommentAuthorKirsty4Paul
all you need to be careful of is if youre having a civil cermony your songs cant have ANY religious content so thing like robbie-angels and brian adams-heaven would be out they're really strict aparently. we are having 5 songs as guests come and sit down which will be all the wedding songs of my family when they got married, then Im walking in to 'it is you I have loved' by dana glover and we are leaving to pencil full of lead by paulo nuttini. Any songs you really want but are banned you could have for your first or last dance etc. we are having brian Adams heaven then instead! its so hard to choose though I will prob change my mind about them all before then!! x
CommentAuthorRhiannonollie
the church probably has a better system thinking about it a cd player might sound really echoy and stuff
Im getting married at a manor house, so wont have to worry about church acoustics. :)

i wanna walk down to snow patrol chasing cars.. its a very small aisle though so i dunno
Soon to be Mrs Laura Naylor !!

CommentAuthorRhiannonollie
you can have it playing before you even come into the room. and then at a point where you think the music sounds best you walk in!! :)
is soooo happy and lucky
CommentAuthorKirsty4Paul
yeah u gotta make an entrance!!!
CommentAuthorRhiannonollie
kirsty - really?? About the banned songs?
I mean me and my parnter are athiest and are having a civil ceremony - we are not having the mention of a god or anything and to any one in our family who ask why - im going to say because we might as well have a hindu wedding, or a Jewish wedding as much as a Christian one because its all and the same to us. But I'm shocked that Civil ceremonies wont allow you to have certain songs!!
i can understand a church asking you nicely not to play some devil music in the church - but really a civil ceremony with rules!!??
is soooo happy and lucky
CommentAuthorloubyscooby
Yep it is reallytrue, there cannot be any religious overtones either in the music or in any poems/readings you may have
CommentAuthorKirsty4Paul
yep if you listen to songs its suprising how often there are references to religion and you cant have them, its tricky!! we are not religious either but didnt think it would matter but aparently they can just say no you're not having that so you need to choose well x x
CommentAuthorRhiannonollie
wow. I did not know that.
I dont think it makes a difference to us any way. Probably if we noticed the religious undertones in anything we wouldnt want it anyway.
I have nothing against other people being religious, but its just not us, and dont want it to be a part of our lives on such an important day.
thanks for the heads up!!
is soooo happy and lucky

We are having ' When I'm with you' by Sherrif for the Processional (it's on you tube if you want to listen)..'En Aranjuez con tu amor' Il Divo for signing of the register..and 'Greatest day' Take That for the recessional.
CommentAuthorshelby

CommentAuthorSteffie
I'm quite liking "When I Fall In Love" and "When you tell me that you love me" for walking in...but I'm now loving the thought of "She".
we are having Stevie Wonder and Blue's "Signed, sealed delivered" as a comedy aspect for signing the register
But stuck on exit music :( xx

I'm walking in to The love of a princess from Braveheart and out to instrumental Hoppípolla which is really uplifting.
CommentAuthormrswalker2b
With them being so strict on religous songs in civil ceremony's will i be able to have shania twain from this moment as there is a part that says "You're the reason I believe in love And you're the answer to my prayers from up above"??
CommentAuthorXLittleMissMe!X
Most of them will let you as you can now have Robbie Williams angels in most places. It just all depends on your individual registrar but if you don't like what they say you can ask for someone else to marry you and ask them if its ok. They have lightened up a lot to what it used to be. Any doubts give them a ring.
CommentAuthormrswalker2b
yeah i have another meeting with them before the wedding so will check it all out hope i can have everything i want i have made a list of what songs i want when, bout the only thing i am organized with lolx
