how many drinks are you all paying for ur guests to have, we've just been out for a meal with friends and they said i should save money n not pay for guests to have the originally planned 6 drinks that we were going to pay for?
CommentAuthorShellster90
Were not paying for any.. It's our day.. were paying for food and everything else so we see it that people should buy us a drink lol. :)
CommentAuthorHoxxyhula
We are paying for unlimited drinks until after the wedding breakfast...eeek!
CommentAuthormrs pinkalice
we're just paying for arrival drinks and a drink for the toast. we're not paying for wine on the tables coz not everyone likes wine its easier if people just go to the bar and buy what they want
CommentAuthorohfiddles
we are doing the same as pinkalice. there is no need to pay for loads i remember my dad kept putting money behind the bar at our engagment prty and spent a fortune!!!! 2 drinks is plenty xxxx
We are only paying for wine at the wedding breakfast, and thats it. I always think if u put money behind the bar people take advantage and just stand at the bar all night ordering one drink after another.

My brother had an open bar and people were ordering bottles of scotch, gin etc! Took the p*ss!!!!
We are paying for bucks fizz on arrival, the toast, and half a bottle of wine each through the breakfast! After that they better get my drinks in lol x
Do not disturb... Already disturbed enough!

Our guests will get a welcome drink, sparkling stuff for the toast and wine with the meal. Anything else they can buy their own! (Kids will get softies though...)

we are only paying for a glass of Pimms or orange juice on arrival plus a glass of sparkling wine (I dont like champagne!! lol) for the toasts. Its mainly to save money but also because lots of people are fussy about what they drink and a lot of my H2Bs family dont drink at all so it'd be a waste of money really xx
CommentAuthorb2bnicola
We've got 1 with top up after ceremony, 2 with meal, and 1 with speeches - £16 per head x
Happily Married! :) xxx
CommentAuthorxAbix
We are paying for the drinks during the wedding breakfast, putting on a free bar after and a cocktail hour. We are only having 23 guests though as we are getting married abroad and we feel like they deserve it after travelling all that way to celebrate with us!!! If we had married in th UK as we were going to we would have just payed for a basic drinks package including a welcome drink, wine with meal and a champagne toast for speeches. xxx
CommentAuthorsbride
xabix, i think if i was getting married abroad, i would most certainly provide drinks as a thank you, i think thats a nice gesture x

we are only paying for a drink on arrival, one glass of wine with meal and a drink for toasts. if you think some people dont like/want wine, some will be driving and most blokes just want a pint so after the toast they can get their own :-)
CommentAuthorMrs Daltry
wer not providing any,,the bar is open from 4.30 ,,,its costing us a fortune as it is,,and as we dont want any speaches or toasts we are saving money
CommentAuthorMrs fairytale
we are paying for arrival drink, then we are having a bottle of red wine and a bottle of white wine on each table, and we might be paying for a glass of sparkly for the toasts, but the bar is open from the moment we get there so we wont be paying for many drinks xx

we have ordered a gold drinks package that includes only 1 arrival drink, wine with meal and sparkling wine for toast soft drinks for kids it's costing £ 800 for the lot for my 80 guests, so l have made little goody bags containing a sml bottle xx
CommentAuthor
v43 - a goody bag with a small bottle - do you mean you are giving your guests a bottle of alcohol? Does the venue know? I think it's a brilliant idea but they would probably rather your guests would buy their drinks.
CommentAuthorIz
We're going to have a couple of drinks on arrival (bellinis, pimms or kir royal), half a bottle each during the meal, and a glass of champers for the toast... We weren't going to, but the venue quoted us a really reasonable price, so we decided to go for it... also, I'm a compulsive pleaser and am already panicking about people not having a good time... I thought if everyone gets drunk at least we'll have a ball :D hehe xx
CommentAuthorKizzy81
We've got around 60 adult guests who'll be getting a reception drink (or 2 at a push, think we're going to offer Bucks Fizz, G&T and juice), wine (12 red, 12 rose and 12 white) and champagne (2 cases - just for the toasts). If there's anything left in the budget I'll put it behind the bar, but I don't think there will be much! We're also going to find it tricky as we're marrying and partying in the middle of nowhere in a marquee, so no cash machine or card payments etc.
CommentAuthorshellay
just the arrival drinks, but not sure how much that is going to cost us yet :)x

we were thinking of just putting money behind the bar,but funds ran out lol
CommentAuthorWren
We having bucks fizz and soft drinks on arrival and one glass of white wine for toasts. If they dont like wine or soft drink they can pay for drinks themselves. We've spent enough money on the entertainment and food lol. plus i know that a few of leigh's family only drink whisky or scotch.
CommentAuthorKatie
We are having bucks fizz for the toast and it is included in the package if we are better off then we may pay for another drink but I havent decided yet.

We're including a drink for the toast and wine with the dinner. My mum and dad are putting a tab behind the bar for one drink whilst we are having our photo's taken.
CommentAuthoressexk
We're paying for 2 welcome drinks, 1/2 bottle of wine per adult and some sparkling wine for toast. Nothing else!! Despite booking local pub for pre-wedding drinks the guests can pay for their own!! If i win lottery between now and wedding then i might consider having a free bar!! x x

We are paying for the drinks during the photo's .. wine/beer for the meal and a Champagne toast. The rest is up to them!
CommentAuthorczazza1
They have drinks packages in Australia which has an open bar for the length of the reception but it's different here ... We've got a great deal with our hotel that includes wine during dinner and we're still debating about paying for a round or two of drinks. We were thinking about making drinks vouchers for guests to use but still a bit unsure about doing that. Still early days with the planning :)
CommentAuthorKerrylou
We're having drinks and nibbles for our day reception. What we've decided to do is work it out to 2-3 glasses of Pimms each plus soft drinks and maybe get a couple of cases of lager/beer in but that's only because it's in my in-laws garden. Evening reception we're having in a bar and guests have to pay for their own drinks then.
A few of these people can seriously put alcohol away, if that's what they want to do then it can come out of their own pockets!!
It's right what they say

But if it had been easy then we wouldn't love each other as
much as we do right now - 1 week to go :D
