OK ladies, I thought I had this one nailed.

I saw a dress that was absolutely me...not white or ivory, but purple. £180 online, being made for me. Paid for, to be delivered in the next month. Fantastic!

BUT...today I went into a wedding dress store, to try on an a-line dress to make sure I looked OK. I found a white dress I really like :(

I never envisaged getting married, let alone what sort of dress I'd be wearing, but I certainly never thought I'd like a white one!

The problem I have is this:

The dress I tried on today looks really lovely on. It fits (OK, it needs about a yard of material taking off the bottom coz I'm a midget) and is...swishy. It's also last season's and in the sale.

The dress I've already ordered and paid for, I have no idea what it looks like on. I've got no real guarantee that it'll be decent quality. But I love it, it's very "me".

So, do I hold off, wait a month and see what my dress is like when it arrives?
Or do I buy the other dress (as well) as I can guarantee that it won't be there in a month's time?

H2B has said I should get the dress I tried on as well, and sell whichever one I decide against on bay of e.

We can afford it, but that's not the point - I HATE spending money on clothes, and think it's outrageous to spend this much money on a frock I'll wear once. To buy both (and have alterations on the white one) would cost £530.

What would you lovely ladies do?

    Hels x x

sorry BUT your H2B is right if you feel strongly about the one you tryed on then get it if you can afford it. and sell one of them once the other arrives. it's the best plan if you dont and the other arrives and you hate it you will kick yourself for letting 'the one' get away

Buy both - dont get any alterations to the white one until you have your purple one then sell the one you dont like. Buttttt also how about get married in the white one then half way through your evening change into the purple?? The dress ive seen and love is £700 so I would love your predicament at the moment xxx

yep buy both! the purple one might not even suit you when its on. I tried on beautiful dresses, but they just didnt do anything for me. My dress was one that didnt look like my kind of thing on the hanger. But when I put it on it worked wonders for me, pulling me in in all the right places and the colour really suited me.

so you never know until you try it on. So get both!

i would buy both and then decide when you have the other one, what if you hate the other one and then this one that you have has been sold? don't get the alterations done until you have the other one and then decide which one you want, sell the one you don't want you will regret it if you don't i think, with my dress i had no intention of ordering one the day i went or even if i wanted a dress but ti found the one and it was being discontinued in a month after i went in so i went for it and i am so glad i did as i can honestly say i have never seen one that i loved more. i was alot of money but my lovely dad bought it for me it was the most expensive thing i will ever wear
    good luck xx

You could wear the white for the day time and the purple on the night time. I did the same and was thinking about having two but my seamstress is now going to alter my first dress so I get everything I wanted in one dress. If she hadn't have been able to do that I would have got both of them. TBH for how much you are paying for two dresses it is still cheaper than what most women pay for one. You can always sell one or both after if you feel that strongly about spending the money.

I agree, if you can afford to keep both then I would wear white one for the day time and the actual wedding ceremony itself and then the purple one for party party party, would love to be able to do that!!!!! x x

Think H2B is right buy the white then sell on Bay of E the one you don't want or you could wear the white for the wedding and the purple for the evening reception.

this is a long shot but you could buy the white one and wear it for your wedding day and keep the purple 1 for a few years time and wear it to renew your vows!

    You sound just like me!

Ive been having a delemia about varoius diff dresses now.. particulary two that i LOVE... one which i just bought from a top seller on ebay 5911victoria.. very good feedback. And another from Ann's website after feedback on this site. I was thinking of buying BOTH since in total both would still only be 250--- then see which one is better. But i think im gonna wait 3/4 weeks for this one. And if it isnt fantastic go with the Ann one! would of loved both LOL! I think this one is gonna be good though i have a feeling.

Regarding your situation, how longs the wedding? can you not wait till you get this one and do the same sort of thing? it may be really good quality and you may love it, and if so you havent wasted the money. If not you can sell the other on ebay and buy the other one.
