I dont know if you have used these before, i have a few times, the picture quality is naff (in my opinion) this time i will be placing blank CD's per family/couple on the reception tables, with a little note asking them to upload their pics of the day onto this CD (also included in the pouch is a board backed SAE,) works out cheaper to for me and then your guests can pop the discs back into the post for you, otherwise you have all the developing malarky and/or scanning to do aswell
People tend to be a bit more 'careful' with their own cameras, and u will probably get better shots too. xx
I dont think there is a shelf life on the films inside these cameras tho.

It is true film does keep better in the fridge. Personally with the amount of people that have digital cameras I would say its best to let them use them as by the time you pay for the cameras and the developing to find most of the kids have been taking shots of the floor and half the guest's heads it usually isn't worth the cost of them.

Some people are now opting for leaving cd's on the tables for people to upload their pics onto and send back or to create a wedding website that people can upload the pics to. It works out so much cheaper for you guys.

You can get them from places like ASDA etc. They are just blank CD's that you would put data, music on etc. They are not that much either. The more you buy the cheaper they tend to be.

ohhh thats a great idea xjox. a wedding website, you could just create a page on FB? would that work, 'invite' your guests to join the page (so they know where to upload the pics to) i know ppl have done things like that for baby showers and birthdays...weddings would work too???

Even better is gettingmarried (google it)

They allow you to upload pics and download them for guests to share but you get to approve them before they go live. You can also use it for people to RSVP, request music, put on hotel details, venue details and all of your other guest info. I would highly recommend it. You can also password protect it and even set up separate RSVP info for the day and evening guests by using different passwords.

You could also buy a cheapy digital camera... you can get one for REALLY cheap these days, and just give the task to a family friend or usher/bridesmaid to go around getting some photos of the guests or whatnot. The problem with disposable cameras, they are quite expensive to buy and also to develop and often most of the pictures you get back aren't very good... my mum had disposables for her wedding and most of them ended up in the hands of the kids at the table, cue many photos of the floor... balloons... the backs of people's heads etc. And most of them came out underexposed and blurry.

You can get CD+r or CD-R which will let you burn to the cd once or you can get CD-RW or CD+RW which will let you re use them again over and over but you will find the latter are more expensive. If you give them DVD-R/DVD+R then they will have more storage space on them to upload more pics and again the DVD+RW or DVD-RW will be resuable again after.

Blueray is a big no no as most people won't be able to record onto them where as the others can be done on any pc.

I bought a pack of 25 CD-R disc from tesco for £4 then I bought CD mailing envelopes from E Bay for a Fiver, and personalised address labels from E bay for £1 so £10 in total a lot cheaper than camera's and No development fees !!!! :D
