Me and Adam are going to be getting married in a hotel where we are also having the reception ect. Since we are not leaving the church to be transported to the venue for the reception, I was wondering do we still get confetti thrown over us? Sorry if this is a stupid question I'm just not sure what happens and if it means we need confetti or not.

Of course you can hunni :-)

BUT before you go out buying loads of it check with your venue first as some don't allow it!
We are having red roses and bubbles instead as our venue doesnt like it.

We are going to have bubbles on our tables at the reception, so maybe we could have bubbles, make it a bit of a theme aha. So are you going outside for that and then back in?

Of course you can hun. I think the best way to do it, is serve your reception drinks outside so you can get your Master of ceremony to call your guests outside and then you and your h2b can go out and your guests can chuck the confetti or your photographer may have a better option
I was planning on having confetti but I've decided not to bother and instead we're all going to be outside having our photos and by the time thats done it'll be dark, so as we are going back inside for the meal we're going to have our guests make an arch with sparklers. Great photo opp!

Of course, but just check with your venue as ours will only allow us to have bio-degradable so we will be putting this in the invites to make sure people know! :D

Melody - the sparklers are a brilliant idea - may have to have a think about that one - sounds lovely! x

I'll have to check next time I'm down, should be going down next month. If not i'm sure they would be okay with the bubbles. Also must make a note to ask my photographer what he thinks once I find out what I can have. So much note taking today lol.

Ohh Melody that sounds lovely! esp at this time of year :) the photos will be great. Your wedding sounds lovely from all the wee things I've seen you write on the forum.

We had our ceremony and reception at the same venue. After the ceremony we went outside to have the drinks reception and people threw rose petals. We asked our venue and they said that they did not allow confetti but rose petals were ok.
