Just taken the car for a new tyre because it was losing tread on the outer rim (passenger side) - and when I went back for it, it was still on the ramp because the tyre on the drivers side needed changing as well, because that was wearing on the inner rim.
Turns out that the bush or arm near the bush at the front needs renewing - grrr. One got done at the beginning of the year for the MOT - but now this has gone (they took me round the car to show me). So instead of popping in for a budget tyre for £50 it's just cost me £100 for two - and a trip back later in the week and another £130+ to pay out!!!!
Luckily we were given money for wedding presents - and we've also been saving because husband could only get 2 weeks paid leave and 2 weeks unpaid for the wedding - so he's only getting half pay in September. Bills to pay, half pay for him and now the car - so annoying!!!!
Luckily though, for our evening reception on Saturday, and for a wedding present, my parents in law have decided to do the catering for us (so has saved us a LOT because it was buffet for about 80 people). Glad really - as it would have been the car or feeding the guests!!!! lol

What a nightmare, you were lucky with the catering. We're paying lots of wedding balances this month and got my MOT reminder, you dread taking them in incase they need work - mine was tyres last year and they're not cheap are they. Cat needs his annual MOT too bless him :-) All these things always crop up at once, last month had to have a wisdom out then the tooth next to it filled as the wisdom damaged it, that was a whopping £130!

Every time I go for a tyre the price has gone up again lol. We were only talking a day or two ago about the car and the MOT coming up straight after Christmas. Hope that's the last of the work needed before then - but knowing our car they'll be other things.
I was lucky last time I went to the dentists - thought I'd need a filling but they've managed to save the tooth (put a coating on it instead) so that's saved some money at least - but you need dental treatment and it's disgusting how much they charge x
