    Hi,

All the packages we have been looking at are about £2000 I dont really want to spend this much on a venue as we only have a 3000 - 3500 budget.
Can anyone recommend a cheap hotel, i don't want a sit down meal just a buffet on the evening
Im pretty much getting everything off ebay such as, bridesmaid dresses, tiaras, shoes for bridesmaids me and my H2B.
My H2B wants to hire a pub (where we had our engagement party) for the reception, but i dont want it to look cheap as we would have to supply food, i dont want to be doing this on my wedding day!
    Help??

You could always try a social club or local village/church hall, you may have to do your own catering tho. x

if your flixible on the day that your getting married and bargin with them they might be able to bring down your quote. alot of the venues do give out bog standard quotes but when you talk to them and give them your budget for your venue then they might be able to help with that. the other suggestion is not to do a buffet but try do somthing like the small cones of fish n chips for a bacon bamp that us a cheaper option that some venues do?
hope that this helps at all

how about the various sites that offers deals ?.
Depending on when your wedding is, what about late availability as some places offers reduced rates - have seen others that offer cheap packages just to fill their diary ?
We were also told by a friend who has a bridal shop, when looking at places not to even mention the "Wedding" word as hotels will offer lower prices if they dont know its actually for a wedding.

Find your local scouthall for the day.. I coach in one of them and they're not that expensive for the day. However you'll have to do everything yourself but honestly it looks wonderfull with all the effort to put in. We had my gran and grandads 40th Wedding Anniversary it was so beautiful. They usually have a kitchen too so buffet should be fairly easy to do by yourself as well. They also have a nice bit of ground...check one out you might be surprised!

I do have one other idea that might help? if your thinking of doing the buffet yourself my partners gran suggested to us if we end up doing so ourselves that you can ask everyone to bring something either cakes or the main food or hot food everyone will like helping out it will also make it feel more personal as well

I live in the west midlands ... (Sorry had work last couple day aint been on sorry about late reply). GemmaB92 my H2B doesnt like asking for things like that, which makes it so much harder! My dad wanted to pay for something like the cake and he was like No. Thank FionaR41 We'll try that :D.
I didn't really want to decorate because if we have it in the pub my H2B wants we're not allowed to go and decorate until 12pm, and my H2B doesn't want to see me on the day so it'll be him doing all the work and he isnt very decorative so i think things will just be shoved everywhere lol.
    Thanks everyone :)
