There is no way you can list everything lol and you will just automatically know what you need to do and say. I hadn't even rented a house when I went looking to buy, I was so nervous especially not having any experience doing it before but as soon as I was there and looking at places I just knew what was needed to be asked, its all a bit obvious! Good luck, it really is such fun as much as it is stressfull!! xx

Don't be afraid to take the mick and offer a really low offer when you do find a place you like, you'll be surprised at how much a seller will sell for, and be prepared to walk away when you have made your final offer, estate agents will always try to get the most out of you

We're in the same boat atm. Looking for house closer to where I work but also close enough for my OH to still get to his workplace.
Im travelling 100 miles per day to get to work right now and its not fun! Especially when im not getting in till around 7pm. I love my job but the ravelling is pants!

All we're finding is STUPID prices for crappy houses or MAHOOOSIVE deposits required.

We went to look at one on sunday which was stunning from the outside, but needed at least 10k spending on it to bring it up to date and extend it - spoke to estate agent today who said the vendor has indicated he would probably sell for 10k less! WTF is that all about then?

It annoys me because we are now both in good jobs and could easily afford the £200,000 mortgage repayments but cant afford the deposit of between 10 and 25%!

Ask if it has any damp, central heating (electric heating can cost a bomb), is there parking, what is the neighbourhood like, erm can't think of any more at the moment. It's pretty straightforward but I know what you mean about wanting to have questions ready x
