    Hi all
I have made all my bridesmaids jewellery (picture will be put in album asap) All my adult bridesmaids have a pearl necklace with a lapis lazuli pendant. The thing is my niece who will be nearing 13 by the time of the wedding is really irresponsible with her things. I know she is just a kid and she will grow out of it but i am really uncomfortable with giving her real pearls when she is not going to look after them (every piece of jewellery i have made her has been either lost, or broken within a week because she refuses to look after her things.) She has an attitude of oh well someone will buy me another one which i absolutely cant stand.
I was thinking that i make her a necklace with glass faux pearls. Am I being mean? Its not just her, her younger sister will be just shy of 7 and has not had any jewellery before so I will be using acrylic pearls for her jewellery. The way im thinking is if they break i always have glass and acrylic pearls lying around to fix them but i ordered the pearls specially and it costs alot of money to get them.
Would this be ok? or should i just give them the real pearls and hope for the best? (btw the jewellery is also their thankyou gifts)

I would definatly use faux ones , i mean at that age you don't understand what things cost and they don't mean alot , it will just be some necklace to her

That's lovely! Definitely not being mean at all! If she's going to break or lose it then use faux!

Pics are gorgeous hun and i would do the exact same with faux ones. There is no point buying the real deal for children.
    xx
