Hi Everyone, I'm quite new to all this so sorry if i'm not supposed to post this here.
Basically I'm having two bridesmaids. My sister who is very tall and H2B's sister who is average height.
My sister wants a floor length dress so she can wear flat shoes but his sis wants a below the knee one.
Its an August wedding so I can see why she wants something not floorlength..... but I dont want my sis to feel less confident if she has to show off her legs in flat shoes.
My H2B thinks that the bridesmaids should have matching dresses but I'd rather they felt happy in them to be honest.
Has anybody else had different style bridesmaid dresses and does it look ok?
Thanks for reading this slightly long post :p

    Hi Natalie,
How about the same style dress but one short and one long. shops such as d3b..en..h4ms & the store of british homes both do dresses for BM in long and short... usually bridal shops have some in stock too perhaps in random colours but will give you an idea what they will look like.
I would definately want BM to be happy in what they are wearing, although saying that one of mine has already told me she has to have a low v neck dress so she can show off her cleavage !!!!!!. hoping mine will all like the twist/wrap style dresses as they can be done in different ways and also come in diff lengths.
My daughter had 3 BM one with a short dress and other 2 in long ones and they all looked nice.

I think so long as the dresses compliment each other in some way then I think it looks nice, I'm having my two in the same style but two different colours (so that I don't have to get everything in the exact shade of pink!)

Go with what you think will look best and make them feel comfortable

I agree with the same style but different length it can look great. I dread when I go shopping for my BM's as one is nearly 6ft tall and the other is on 5'2'lol. So I think I'll possibly be going with the different length dresses :) x

In one of my bridal magazines there were five or six bridesmaids of different shapes, sizes and ages. Their dresses were different, strapless, thick straps, one shoulder strap, knee and ankle length dresses. Despite them all being different they have the same style and colour and matched beautifully. My three adult bridesmaids are having the same dress but my younger bridesmaid's dress has straps, whereas the others don't. And it works. Just let both BMs know the plan so they know the dresses will be different lengths, just avoid confusion.

It doesn't have to be so uniform. I agree with the other girls and also think it shows the personality of the bms more xx

I aslo think they'd look lovely indifferent length dresses. A lot of brides do this now, and have their bridesmaids in the same colour, but different styles. I'm sure they'll be over the moon to find our their comfort is important to you :)
