Really feel like im gonna have to drop out of uni way things are going with my childcare arrangements!!!

Not only am I paying a fortune but I do not even know why I'm paying the private nursery anymore!!! I went to collect the girls and my eldest was being spoken to like a piece of poo off the cleaner because she asked whose sweets they were on the tabel - they happened to be the cleaners (little did she know I was around the corner getting my youngest and heard everything! she got a shock whe I popped my head round!!) and my youngest had a saturated nappy on! no word of a lie it was literally round her ankles it was that wet! and she stunk of poo and yet they hadnt changed her???!!!!! wtf!! I even mentioned it to the nursery staff and got no response!! Took them home changed my little ones nappy and shes red raw with nappy rash to who knows how long shes been like that for!!! I'm fuming!!! Nursery manager is useless and always says that her staff arent like that when you compain, as I've already had a pevious run in when one of them called my eldest a little sh*t - nice or what - all because my daughter didnt want to hold her hand to come to my car she wanted my hand - which is understandable i think!

Ive looked into other childcare arrangements but we cant physically afford them :( my funding from uni covers the childcare costs alone each month! im definately going into the wrong profession the amount these get paid and they arent even looking after the children properly!!!

I wanna say somehting to the nursery manager again but she names and shames when you complain about a memeber of staff!!!

Uni is hard enough as it is without sitting in lectures worried if my kids are being treat nice and the little one having her nappy changed regularly! after all i provide them with nappy so cant see their problem!! I know they are short staffed as half staff are on maternity leave but they shouldnt have taken more kids in at beginning of september then in my eyes its ridiculous - they have the cook and cleaner acting as nursery assistants atm due to staff shortages!!

Anyway rant over I needed to rant to someone as H2B is at work :(

sorry to hear that about your kids. thats awful for you to have to go to uni whilst worrying about your kids, you shouldnt have to do that. maybe best speaking it over with h2b to see if there are any oter arrangement that can be made for the kids. hope you get it sorted as it would be a shame for you to have to give up uni. bx

yes i would definatley look elsewhere anywhere!! its hard enough studying i know becaue i am myself, without worrying whats happening to your childeren whhile you are studying!! i cant beleive some of the things you have said this is not good at all. kids can be naughty but it never gives ANYBODY the right to call them a little s**t. and especialy if they oonly asked a question.
your child is the most precious thing to you and they should have that i there mind but they clearly dont have x x

i would contact yout local council ....they have to oversee all nurserys ,so i think they would be interested to hear of your problems...they will also have a list of other possibles nurserys/childminders ........what about having an nanny or au pair that could have the children in your own home

Uni have hard ship funds, talk to a student support officer, explain what is going on and they will find alternatives for you. This is hard, and it must be so tempting to give it all up, but when you get there most hospitals have a nursery on site. I think it is appalling and something needs to be done, what do the other mothers think??

Maybe uni could pair you up with someone who does oposite timetable to you so you could share the childcare??? When I was there the year groups met at different times??

    I'm now a married woman
    I have a gorgeous husband
    Whats to do now
Theres no more wedding planning to do

s terrible the way the kids are being treated. I would complain to the owner and wouldn't care if i was being named and shamed for doing so. I agree with Lala contact the local council and see what they have to say about it.

I'm not sure what subject you are doing but it may be worth you looking at the open uni which I am doing. You work from home and have everything you need to do your degree which even includes a tutor that is on call. You can attend tutorials but it is down to you if you want to do that or not. If you already have started your degree then you can transfer the points over to the OU so you don't have to start all over again. If you earn under 30k you will get help towards the courses but anything you are left to pay you can do so in installments through OUSBA. You can also use tesco club vouchers to help pay towards courses and if you claim housing benefit/ Council tax benefit or are a low income then you not only get all your courses for free but you also get £260 to help towards costs.

I'm so glad that I did my degree though the OU as it is flexible to suit my needs.

You should report them. Even if they are privately owned, i'm sure they still have to pass OFSTED regulations and rules, and would all have to be registered as childminders, CRB checked etc, thats no way to look after your daughter x

If you have a camera phoine, take a picture next time this happens of your youngest in the nursery room, then when you go to chnage the soiled nappy take a picture too.

You can threaten all sorts of action, like contacting people as reakim mentioned & the others too.

It's disgudting you expect people liek that to be able to care for your child as you would do & any breach of that deserves to be complained about & reported.

This is why I dont have strangers looking after my kids. No offence to anyone who uses nurseries or child minders, but I just could not do it.
