I'm getting married on 21st september 2011! We were going to get married at 12 pm too loola_hoop but we were advised thatwas far too early and guests would be waiting around between the reception and evening do's! I'm gutted but agreed to put the wedding back by an hour lol I know its only an hour but its an hour less in my dress and 1 hour more till i get to see my husband!!

thats what im worrying about now, i was thinking it was a good idea to have wedding breakfast at lunch time, but now im thinking what are we gonna do between that and the evening reception?? we are holding our reception at a golf club, so maybe a round of golf after lunch?! pmsl! i just know that i wont be able to sleep and will want to get ready and married asap - so thought noon was a good idea! lol oh well will think of something! lol xXx

that was my exact reason for wanting a 12 wedding hehe. I've worked it out now though that if we get married at 1pm it takes about 30 mins to 45 mins for the ceremony. Then the photographer has an hour and a half with us while the guests mingle with drinks and canapes which takes us to 3:15pm. The venue said the reception takes around an hour and a half which takes us to 5pm ish and then about an hour for speeches which takes us to between 5:30 and 6 o clock. I think its acceptable then for another hours break between the reception and evening guests arriving. So thats whats gonna happen now im compromising on the 1pm wedding and have to hope to god it all runs to time now hehe. we met with the co ordinator yesterday and there was a wedding going on that was an hour late and they were only starting to eat at 4:30 so will still be in their reception when the evening guests arrive. I'm adamant thats not going to happen lol I want the chance to freshen up and spend some time with my new husband before the party starts hehe!

I'm getting married in Preston - a mere hours journey away, lol. Lovely place called Bartle Hall.
We chose the date through a combination of reasons our anniversary is the week before - the date was gone and the surrounding dates cost a fortune (Bank holiday and weekend) so we picked a friday and september as near as possible to anniversary date which has knocked the costs down and made it affordable and suitable for us. :)

Hi, I am getting married on the 17th Sept 2011. Really wish it was this year tho, dont think I can handle a full year of sleepless nites and suddenly waking up and thinking about flowers/favours/ushers. I see there are quite a few on the 17th :-) Good choice of day xxx

Im getting married on September 2nd too at 4pm, thou i might change this to 3pm now. I am also in the same area, im from Warrington! its abit scary aint it. Ive only booked my venue - Crabwall Manor, just outside of Chester.
So much to do, no money to do it! :-( sure we will be ok in a few months time thou! Jo x

Lol I think my fingers had a mind of their own. Yes it is next year the same date as you! How far is everyone with their planning? I feel like I've done that much at the moment there isn't much left to do for the next year.

Apart from booking the venue and the registar i havent done anything yet either! ohh ive sent out save the date cards too as with it being close/few days before kids go back to school i didnt want anyone to be on holiday!
I really want to start buying a few bits but at the moment money is sooooo tight, down to our last £40 till friday and i have a car to fill :-( hopefully come end of september i can start as i have just started a new better paid job and we will be better off :-)
so frustrating thou! i see things want them but cant have!
Next thing on my list i think is finding a photographer so any ideas please let me know! (budget!!!!)

I've booked: The venue Photographer Cars Registrar Florist Wedding insurance Hotels for us all Hair and make up Ordered my dress Sorted out music Sorted out a few readings and poems to choice from Got my jewelery Sent out save the date cards Got my veil, tiara and shoes Brought my flower girl two dresses to choice from depending which one fits (they were £15 for both) Brought flower girls hair accessories Sorted maps for guests Sorted table plan Brought wedding post box Brought stuff for wishing tree Worked out what favours we are having Got the wedding rings on order Sorted out what cake we are having and brought all the bits for it Got flower girls wand
Advice for a photographer would be:
Ask them not only how much it costs for the wedding day but how much reprints will be or even better if they let you have a disk to do reprints! Have a selection of photos you like from websites to show them what you like Ask them how long they will stay for (the less time the less money it will cost you) Work out what formal shots you want. (the more you can organise this the more time it will save you) Ask them if they carry a spare camera and lens (they can break) Ask to see their work which includes a whole wedding not just their best shots of each Make sure you like them as you need to feel relaxed when they take the pics Ask if they do gift vouchers (guests can then contribute towards your albums) If you can get a disk photobooks are cheaper on the net)
If you are finding it hard to get one in budget then ring around the colleges and unis and find someone who does portraits. You can ask them to do a pre shoot to find out how good they are etc. They are also good if you want a cheap string quartet or harpist etc. Ebay also saved me loads of money and I have found loads of things in the sales. I'm trying to get what I can before the VAT goes up.

i didnt want a traditional wedding breakfast either jennebel, i wanted a late afternoon wedding with a big evening party, but H2B really wanted wedding breakfast so now getting married at 1.30pm lol im getting married on 17.09.2011, nothing kool about the date but soooooooo excited!!! :D :D :D
