My wedding isn't until April 2016 but I can't help think of different ideas and get as much as I can organise now.
My partner and I decided last year that we were only having a photographer for a couple of hours while we actually get married and then having a Photobooth for the evening, we thought this would be much more fun and relaxed. At the time this seemed to be quite a rare thing to have at a wedding but since booking this it seems everyone is having photobooths at their wedding!!
I also wanted to have a sweet cart at the wedding but again this seems to be something that a lot of people are having now.. I know it always goes down very well and I've myself very much enjoyed eating sweets from a cart at a wedding but I was wondering if anyone has any other ideas for something similar?
Look forward to all of your suggestions.

We are doing sweetie jars as our favours if this helps?
You could also consider alternatives like a cake/dessert table, chocolate fountain with lots of thinks to dip, etc.. x

Hi Flossie. Yes we're doing sweet cars as our favours as well. I'm currently collecting the mini Douwe Egberts jars, which is taking longer than I had expected lol. I like the sound of a chocolate fountain :)

We have asked my auntie to save my baby cousin's food jars for us.. She has 10 so far, only another 35 odd to go! :) x

You could also consider popcorn and candy floss machines.. x
Visit the wedding fairs, I've seen old fashioned gelato/ice cream carts on a 3 wheeled bike, chocolate fountains, sweet carts, candy floss, pop corn, fish and chip vans, magicians, characature artists, giant garden games like chess, Jenga, bouncy castles. Mobile casino, the possibilities are only as endless as your imagination and your bank balance!!
Mobile cocktail bars seem to be quite popular too.
Our venue is near a canal and there's a barge that sells ice cream.

Instead of a sweet cart I'm thinking of having a design your own cupcake bar with sweets and stuff. We have a lot of children coming to our wedding though

We like you felt that everyone is doing photo booths and found it so generic and boring so instead of a photo booth, we are having a caricaturist who will be doing cartoon portraits - he is fantastic and so different!

Re candy cart, the same reasons so we just aren't having one as the portraits can double up as favours too so both problems are solved!!

Love the idea of a cookie cart. I was considering having little glasses of milk with cookies but we will have enough food on the go as it is!

One wedding I went to had fish bowls in the middle of the table as their table centers and they were filled with sweets (qu@1!ty str33t). They were very popular.

I love the idea of a dessert table but our venues prices are to much, candy floss carts are good or popcorn ones :)
our venue also said if we want a candy cart they charge £30 for us having one so i am doing sweet jars for the evening tables and putting yellow (my colour scheme) sweet bags on the tables for people to pop some in and a fish bowl of lolly/rock near my guest book.

I really wanted a candy cart but due to price I have tried to find alternatives for this. I have had an idea to buy lots of pick n mix sweets and get some scoops and paper bags and kind of make my own candy cart just on a table. It will save a lot of money in the end x

Maybe have lots of sweet trees instead, or like some others have said, a popcorn or candy floss cart. Can also hire ice cream vans etc in a lot of areas, our local ice cream parlour has a van and they hire it our for weddings and people love this place, has the best ice creams.

I love the idea of the ice cream cart.. one of the really old fashioned, vintage looking ones! Waaaayyyy too much food going on with a three course wedding breakfast, cake and buffet though so don't want to waste money. Although all these things are fab I just don't think they would get touched at our wedding!! Xx

I've actually fallen in love with the idea of having a Crêpe making station, although may hire the van, depending on the cost! Everyone I've spoken to says that I HAVE to do a sweetie cart, as I do one at every party, but I don't know whether to follow the tradition and do one, or to change things up and disappoint people.. It's not much expense, I just don't want it feeling like another one of my birthday parties I've thrown for my daughter or family member! We're also planning on having a Caricaturist! When we first saw one at a Wedding fair, it was my MOH that dragged me over to him, as I'm not very self-confident about my looks, so having someone take the p*** out of me wasn't really something I wanted on my wedding day! but the picture actually turned out not so terrible, so since then I've gone online and had a browse, and found someone who has two different styles! and asks you if you want a nice one or a funny, exaggerated one! which I love the idea of! I have thought about a chocolate fountain, but don't fancy tidying any mess from that up the next day! Also, thought of a cupcake making station, but worried that people wouldn't eat the Wedding Cake! Also liked the idea of a vodka luge, but was worried that it would seem a bit self-important! Oh, the things us Brides find ourselves questioning! X
