    Hi Donna,

I'm getting married in may 2015 so wanted spring colours - so am having mint green and pale yellow.

Bride: i am having yellow shoes under my dress for the day then some sparkly mint ones for the evening, will be holding a yellow and white bouquet.

Groom: mint cravat and pocket square and yellow button hole

Adult bridesmaids: Mint dresses and yellow and white flowers

Flower girl: white and yellow dress

Groomsmen: yellow ties and pocket squares

Cake: light green with white and yellow daisies

I might just say sod the tan and hope we have some nice weather for me to lay out in..... or do the sunbeds for a couple of sessions. I hadn't thought of it rubbing off.

I've got a busy weekend planned for the 22nd of March, two dress shops on the 22nd and then our engagement party, followed by wedding talk with the bridesmaids and I had another dress shop booked on the Sunday.

As the woman was coming into the shop especially for me and I've found another shop I want to look in, I've changed the appointment for the Sunday one and booked another shop for the 8th instead and will be going just with my mum, which free's the Sunday after the engagement drinks just for wedding talk and possibly a wedding fair :D

and.... it means I'm trying on some dresses NEXT weekend!!! Exciting stuff.

Just catching up been a busy week.

Loving the seating plan would make it so much easier to do.

Donna, Ive decided Im going for sunbeds rather than spray tan (I hate beds BUT the spray tan gets everywhere and could ruin the dress. its not silly if your H2b wants to be the only one in a top hat, We did think it would just be Alan in the Lindsay tartan but we have found a place that will do Connors kilt at a reasonable cost (Still be the most expensive guys outfit but its his day too). I think white or ivory would be best with yellow BM dresses. Have fun trying on the dresses mine was the 4th one I tried on

MrsKto be welcome and congrats on booking your wedding

Ladyj your more than welcome to join us,

MrsMalin2b Congrats on booking the venue woohoo.

I was told when going dress shopping mind that MOST dresses take 9 months to come in so id go sooner than later so you can get what you really want.

Im getting to put the sample dress on again the bridal shop are having an accessory evening on 10th April so ive booked an appointment so I can see what viels and Tiaras I like best with my dress on and my mum is getting to come with me too as she hasn't actually seen it on yet :)

My plan is to try everything on and even if I find a dress when I look in March I'm waiting until summer to try it on again with a couple of others just to make sure it is def ''the one'' before I order it. At first I thought if I find one I'm ordering it, but I've decided it's not going anywhere, also my mum kept saying I shouldn't put a deposit down until I'd thought about it, so this will put her mind at rest that I'm going for the right one.

Yeah that plan is based on there being no offers on, would be a different story if there was an offer or it was being discontinued ect.

Saw our band today, they are really really good :) such a relief as was slightly worried about booking them before we saw them, but didn't want them to get booked up either. So happy! Only saw a bit of their set though as fiancé has work in the morning, going to go back next time they're playing in a half term and see if my mum wants to go as well and make a night of it, have a meal before and a few drinks ect.

    Hi Ladies

We provisionally booked our big day this week... 7th april 2015 (8yr anniversary) and its at my dream venue! its getting exciting now as only 1year and 37days to go!

I have not started officially dress shopping but i have been hunting online and found the most stunning dress that i cant wait to try on, at the moment nothing compares to it! its alot more than i was hoping to pay but we shall see if its perfect on me too.

My colour scheme is peacock inspired (teal, blue purple) and having a vintage glamour feel with lots of lace and feathers.
its so hard to decide as there as so many beautiful ideas out there but whether they work with everything else is another matter.

Off to another wedding fayre tomorrow, see what other inspiration i can get :) have a great wknd all xx cassie

Our dream venue was way too expensive; even if we had pushed the wedding back a year; we couldn't justify spending £4500 on just the venue and food; not included ceremony room hire; registrar e.t.c

We received our official documents and contract from the hotel today; all very exciting but confusing as hell :S

The dress is a justin alexander called vixen. beautiful!! what is yours Donna? no matter what style you prefer (as we are all different) im sure it will be beautiful

our venue is Browsholme hall tithe barn in Lancashire. yes it is expensive but affordable as i've been saving forever. hire fee alone is £2300 ceremony hire fee £450 and the caterers have said they will work in our budget.

Its alot of money but i wouldn't have been happy with anything else. Im not keen on the hotel packages etc that provide set meals as i am scrapping 3 course dinner and having afternoon tea, so looked for somewhere that was flexible and could let me do what i like haha x

You have plenty of time to practice at least :)

Off to a wedding fair today, hopefully will get me all excited again and we can speak to our violinist. We want to ask if she will be able to get the backing track for the game of thrones theme and also listen to her play some other stuff

    Hi ladies....

Got a dilemma. ... so we provisionally booked our venue to then only go to another venue for a wedding fayre this wknd and my OH wants to marry there instead. It's beautiful but I'm annoyed cos I didn't look at it as a potential after already booking. So now I'll have to wait 2 weeks till the open eve to see how it will suit, this makes me anxious. And then to top it off they have some last min dates left this year which basically takes the price down by £1700!! He wants to discuss this. .... which is fine but it would mean marrying in 6 months rather than in a year and on our anniversary. .. potentially not getting the suppliers we wanted and my best friend (1/3 bridesmaid) not being able to attend as she's possibly moving to usa in 5 months for a teaching job!

What would you do...... for the sake off costs!? Xx

Wow it is a great saving but you need to think is It worth it if it means limiting yourself to the suppliers available for that date and not having your best friend there? But then again with that saving; you could afford to spend a bit more on suppliers?

I think you do both need to sit down and list and the pros/cons of having it this year and then take a couple of days to make your decision. It might be worth taking into consideration your guests being able to attend as well as some may or may not be able to afford to come in 6 months or may already have all their hols booked for this year. I don't know your guests (obviously :) ) so don't know if this applies to them.

Good luck and I hope you can both reach a joint decision.

Hmmm - I think this year might be a push, especially with your friend not being able to make it.

But can't you book it for next year? I don't understand why you'd have to wait for the open evening to book it to be honest, although you haven't seen it done up you can imagine it from seeing the venue.

We went to two wedding fairs today and got loads of idea's :) so happy

We are now thinking about changing the tartan for the guys as my cousin who gets married 3 months before us told us he is having the same tartan it's not such a big deal I had my eye on 2 tartans (oh isn't that bothered about which one it is).

Elise you sound so organised, I'm thinking about doing fudge as a 2nd type favour not said this to oh yet as he will think I'm nuts or I might just get the hotel to bring it out with the teas and coffee.

Wow mrs alin2b you have had a busy week great saving on the photographer though.

So far I have booked and paid deposit for the venue (great package)
Booked and paid deposit for registrar
Organised the photographer (fbil's dad I'd doing it for £150
Ordered our cake and laid deposit
Organised my dress and pad 25% of it
Booked the band and paid the deposit
    Bought wedding insurance
Know what the guys are having as favours
Organised my hair and make up.

    Still need to sort out
flowers I keep changing my mind on what I want.
    BM dress
    Kilts for the guys
Favours for the woman although I'm swinging towards a little candle
Coaches (we aren't having cars I have horrendous car sickness and will stay hotel night before)
    And stationary.
Accessories for me and my sister
    Thank you gifts

Not every family has a tartan. Alan does have his own kilt and he will wear that but it's not one that can be hired so the other guys in the bridal party will wear a different one. We are both Scottish but my surname is Irish so doesn't have a tartan. I want a purple tartan to go with the rest of the couture and ohs tartan is red/green. We are looking at buying one for our ds tho so he is the same as his daddy.

Hey guys, its my first time back in a long time as we finally started planning properly at the start of this year, two years after we got engaged! We're having a really homemade day utilising the many talents of our family and friends! The reason we were able to start is that after agonising over the continually increasing price of our dream Scottish venue, we realised that my partner's parent's place was actually perfect! They bought a real fixer upper in County Down, Northern Ireland about 3 years ago, that gets more and more stunning with each new development. Their kind agreement to us having it there has saved us about 4000! We are applying to get a marriage licence for them so that we can have the whole day there on Saturday August 1st 2015, giving us time to keep saving and them time to complete more of the house! Failing that we will do the legal bit at the registry office in the morning, but save the rings and the rest of the personal stuff for a blessing set in their acre of land :) all really excited and have researched most of the suppliers needed!

Might be nice to have a break from wedding stuff, we had a bit of a break (a week or two) but wedding fairs and dress shopping has suddenly all appeared again in March... April it starts to dry out again (only have one fair planned) and we're going to visit future in laws for Easter and it's my brothers 21st oh and my soon to be God daughters christening, so loads of none wedding related plans for April :)

I just like to keep myself busy

Im the same love being busy. Ive got tickets to the Loch Lomond wedding fayre but not sure if im going to go I might wait and see if the flower lady in that area who I like is going and see what she is offering.

Im going for afternoon tea with my sister shes is my one and only BM and hasn't seen my venue yet we are going there on the 15th. My sis is away the first two weeks of may and we are away the last two so it will be a wedding free zone :) June will be when we go BM dress shopping again. Im just about to send off an email about kilt hire lol.

I'm doing afternoon tea at my venue as well, with my nanna-although not soon, we'll probably do it next year as a mini hen as she won't want to go on the proper one.

I will prob go again with my best friend or maybe treat mum and dad to lunch as dad is itching to go through but as its a bit of a distance its not like he can just pop in.

Well I got my first quote for wedding cars today and I was shocked at how much I was quoted. I didn't really have a clue on the going rates but with a quote of nearly a thousand pounds for a oneway 5 mile trip in my eyes is horrendous! Id rather get a taxi and pay £7 than pay that.... how dare they insult me like that
