The Astonishing Singers is an entertainment business that delights in surprising wedding-goers with their impromptu singing performances.
All our packages include the following:
2 Waiters who will appear as incognito waiters – We arrive before your guests ready for when they walk in the door. Building a rapport with the guests as waiters so they will be shocked when we break into song.
Equipment – We bring with us all the equipment needed from the speakers, sound desk and microphones to the plugs and cables. All will be sound checked when we arrive
Travel – We include travel in our quotes so that you don’t get any surprises later.
Event Liason – Liaising with the venue and any other parties to ensure that you don’t have to lift a finger.
Uniforms – We will confirm the uniforms required and ensure that we match the outfits the staff is wearing to blend in seamlessly.
PAT Tests and other legals – All the bits we need to do in the background.
A bit of information on how we work
Booking the Waiters
When booking you will be contacted directly by one of our singing waiters. They will confirm all the details regarding the event including the date, location, and venue contact details. We will check if there are any special requests or shoutouts for the performance. Then will ask for a small deposit to secure the date with the final amount due no later than 1 week before the event. Then We get to work!
Preparation
Our team will then contact the venue and go through the details for the day. We will gather all the details we need including when to arrive for set up and soundcheck. When guests are expected to arrive so we are ready to appear as waiters for them. What uniform we are required to wear and to ensure any name tags or venue-specific attire is provided for. We will also confirm the timings for the performance and to ensure that our performance has no impact on the running of your special day.
The Big Day
We will arrive 2 hours before the guests to set up our equipment and check out staging and sound levels. We will then take our place as waiters. Throughout the day we will build a rapport with your guests so they will have no idea what is coming. Our aim is to be seen as much as possible by your guests performing staff activities as the more we are seen the more convinced they will be that it is a normal event.
As mains are cleared by the waiters this is when we jump into action and start our performance with a custom reveal be it dropping a tray of cutlery, an announcement, an argument, or jumping straight into a song.

Meet the Owner
From childhood, Robin has had a passion for all things performing. Taking all chances to perform, he was cast in multiple lead roles developing the performer he has become to this day. Robin has trained with several singing tutors including Graham Trew (Gentleman in Ordinary to Her Majesty the Queen). As part of this, he learned classical, contemporary, and musical theatre styles. He also achieved high levels in both the Associated and Trinity Musical Theatre boards. During this period Robin was also lucky enough to perform in several TV shows. At 18, he attained a position at the Bristol Academy of Performing Arts on a 3-year Musical Theatre course. As part of this Robin expanded his skills in all the disciplines of dance, singing, and acting. He had the honor of performing with the school and received rave reviews for his portrayal of Claude in “Hair”. As Robin trained he also kept up with his other passions joining a gospel choir, taking up wedding singing, and featuring in a cabaret group “The Academy Singers” at a variety of venues. Since leaving BAPA Robin has toured Cyprus performing a trio of shows and performed in venues across the UK. Robin joined The Astonishing Singers in 2014 and hasn’t looked back.
