Based in Peterlee, County Durham, England, Caritas Ceremonies is an independent wedding celebrant who conducts nuptials from Northumberland to North Yorkshire. Celebrant Joanne Benson was a nurse for 30 years and has a wealth of experience working with families in the public, private, and voluntary sectors. She trained with the UK College of Celebrants and offers a professional, supportive, and sensitive service. Joanne believes that marking important events in our lives is a key part of the human experience. She is excited to work with you to mark the occasion of your marriage and help to tell your love story in a meaningful way.

Caritas Ceremonies will collaborate with you and your partner to create a wedding that reflects your personalities, values, and beliefs. Joanne can help with everything from selecting music and poems to incorporating your family's traditions. She can also come up with a structure that flows well. This celebrant is flexible and wants to ensure that your big day feels entirely personal to you. As these ceremonies are not part of the legal registration of a marriage, they can be held wherever your heart desires. From beaches to gardens, hotels to libraries, Caritas Ceremonies will preside over the next step of your partnership with grace and eloquence.

I will work closely with you to ensure your ceremony reflects you, your beliefs and what is important to you. I will support you through the process of finding the appropriate words, music and symbols that will reflect who you are and what you want to express. I will help you structure the ceremony so it flows in a meaningful way to you. I will do all that I can, to ensure your ceremony is calm and respectful and I will coordinate the contributions of other people. I am flexible and can help you create a ceremony which is entirely personal to you or one which has some traditional elements. Where do I even start? I believe Joanne may be the kindest person I have ever met. We consider ourselves truly lucky to have had her as our celebrant. From early planning to the final moments during our ceremony she was a calm, competent "rock" for us, guiding us through it all - even our baby daughter crying during the ceremony. My husband and I booked Joanne for our wedding at Hallington Mill on 7 May 2022. Joanne from start to finish was absolutely faultless. She spent time and care helping us pick out every last detail of the ceremony to how we wanted it. She’s thoughtful, professional and out right amazing. We cannot recommend her enough. No doubt in my mind she would do the best job you could ever ask for. All our guests said how brilliant she was. Before, during and after, Joanne went above and beyond our expectations. She loves her job and it shows. Nothing negative to say at all.

It Was The Most Beautiful Ceremony
Joanne done our ceremony at Vallum Farm on 28.5.22. It was the most beautiful ceremony and every one of our guests commented how beautiful the ceremony was. From the day we asked Joanne about our ceremony through website to the wedding day was so straight forward and no stress at all. Joanne met us in our home and asked us about everything to do with us and our ceremony. It was everything and more we could have wished for. Very professional, patient and showed a great sense of responsibility
Before we met Joanne, we had no idea about the wedding process. She gave us lots of advice regarding the ceremony and listen patiently to our needs. She also recommend songs for our ceremony after knowing our requirements. she was very professional, patient and showed a great sense of responsibility which allowed our wedding ceremony to be perfect and unforgettable.
