Located just a 10-minute drive from Longleat safari park, within easy reach from Salisbury or Bath and a short drive from Bristol, our cosy inn has become a favourite stopover, either for a delicious meal after a long day’s adventure, a comfortable overnight stay or a base for your fun-filled weekend break.

For those looking to explore the area, Stonehenge and Longleat are just a short drive away, making The George Inn the ideal place to call home during your adventure. The 18th century landscaped garden and Palladian mansion of Stourhead is also just a stone’s throw away and the Bowood Estate, Salisbury Cathedral and the American Museum and Gardens are within easy reach.

During the summer months, our lovely extensive grounds provide the perfect environment to enjoy a drink with family and friends, or grab a bite to eat whilst overlooking the banks of the River Wylye.

When you book with The George you will have your very own bar, personal entrance, function room, orangery, terrace and self-contained facilities. he extensive garden with its riverside backdrop offers an excellent place to take some beautiful photos to capture your special day. The George holds a licence to hold civil ceremonies for up to 60 people in the orangery and 80 people in our function room. We can offer a discount on room hire for mid-week weddings. We can also offer marquee weddings which allow for a higher capacity of guests. We have 12 hotel rooms, all boasting en-suite facilities, including family rooms. All our accommodation rates include breakfast. Situated on the banks of the River Wylye in the charming village of Longbridge Deverill, The George Inn is a traditional coaching inn set within an acre of grassland.
