Our 100 acre organic farm is tucked amongst the rolling hills of the Devon/Dorset border and the whole farm can be exclusively yours, and your guests.

Nestled down our winding track, River Cottage is surrounded by 100-acres of glorious Devon countryside and organic farm-land. This spectacular setting guarantees a glorious and tranquil setting for your wedding celebrations. With exclusive use, River Cottage is exclusively yours for the entire of your special day.
Whether you choose to say “I do” in our renowned Farmhouse Kitchen garden, or the beautifully restored 18th century Threshing Barn, your dedicated wedding Co-ordinator will work closely with you from your initial conceptual ideas through to your special day, leaving no stone unturned to make absolutely sure your celebrations run smoothly and of course, fun and stress free.
Superb food is at the core of what we do and love. The River Cottage kitchen team make wonderful celebratory dinners, using the very best local and seasonal produce. In the lead-up to your wedding you will meet with one of our chefs to plan your perfect tailor made menu, I have attached sample menus to give you an idea of the styles of menus we can offer.
The famous River Cottage Farmhouse, home to filming many of the River Cottage series, now beautifully renovated and refurbished as our private River Cottage Guesthouse is also available for hire. Sleeping up to 10 guests when booked with its recently refurbished annex, The Gardeners Cottage, this 17th Century Farmhouse invites the perfect place to rest and reflect upon your celebrations.

Celebrate your special day at Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s iconic River Cottage, set within 65 aces of organic farmland, River Cottage is a unique wedding venue with a strong emphasis placed on the food served throughout the day. The venue is fully-licensed to conduct civil ceremonies, couples can say their vows in Hugh’s famous farmhouse, the beautifully refurbished barn with breath-taking views or in the walled garden depending on the season and the weather. The focus is most definitely on the food and all of the dishes created here use the finest home grown, local, organic and seasonal ingredients, guaranteed to impress your guests. The Threshing Barn is the perfect rustic venue all year round and can accommodate up to 100 seated guests for your ceremony and 60 for dining. In the evening we clear the tables to make room for 120 to dance into the night. After dancing the night away, you can retire to our newly refurbished 17th century farmhouse for the night, where accommodation and bed and breakfast for six people is included in your wedding package.
