Blairquhan Castle

Having our wedding at Blairquhan was the best decision we’ve ever made! The staff are incredible and make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door. They also know their stuff when it comes to weddings. They can recommend vendors, timings, places to stay, activities, or anything else you may need for your special day. Jess made the planning and execution a seamless process. This was especially helpful for my husband and I as we were planning this wedding from the U.S.

When we arrived at Blairquhan, we immediately felt at home and at ease. They helped manage everything for all 3 days of wedding activities and made sure it all ran smoothly. They are well organized and flexible and were able to accommodate all of our friends and family in an absolutely stunning venue!

We truly cannot thank everyone at Blairquhan enough for making our wedding day so memorable and we hope to be back to visit soon!

Jess, our wedding was the most incredible day of our lives, and a lot of that was down to you. I don’t think either of us realised just how amazing it would be.

The process on the run up and the attention to detail of all the small aspects of the day were exceptional. We knew we were in safe hands because of this investment of your time, and the care taken throughout every stage of the planning period. We’re sure it would have been a much different day without it. We also want to mention our appreciation for all opportunities you gave us to personalise our day - from providing us with corkage options, a bespoke selection of beers, to going through many iterations of laying out the room to make sure all our guests could be together in one space and even finding us creative ceremony options; it made a big difference. Especially in today’s wedding world where more often than not, you have to commit to a package with little flexibility around it.

You set the tone on the Friday. My parents and I were welcomed by warm smiles, limitless tea, coffee and biscuits, as well as kind offers of help from all the staff. Throughout the weekend, the castle was simply stunning and we were so proud to welcome our guests to the grounds. The gardens were beautiful, clearly tended to with love and care. The rooms were warm, clean and inviting. The food at every touch point was excellent, and we received so many compliments on the quality of every meal and how attentive the staff were, going above and beyond for us on many different occasions.

A particular highlight for us was the ceremony. The acoustics in the saloon blew us both away. The high ceilings, music from our quartet and the intimate setting created such an emotional moment, a moment we will cherish forever. Also, Jess I think it was your idea?! to ask my brother to pop the champagne for our quaich. What a special edge it gave.

When speaking to Jess during planning, I told her one thing that was important to us was that the guests left feeling that they had been treated with care and generosity and I think it’s fair to say we delivered on that. At one point the popping of champagne corks during the drinks reception actually overshadowed the music of the string quartet - as the castle team was so committed to ensuring our guests had timely top ups! We loved that!

The day itself went seamlessly and I can’t thank you enough for all that you did to make it the happiest day of our lives. Jess of course a special mention to you. You held our hands throughout the entire process, took care of our requests and made sure you found a way to make our vision a reality. Thank you.
