Zuzana & James's Wedding Story
I always love shooting at the beautiful Clevedon Hall, which is an exclusive venue in Somerset, perfect for weddings. With 17 acres of land, the Grade II listed luxurious building offers lots of charming photo opportunities for newlyweds. The building is exquisite and is a stunning backdrop for those photos of the bride and groom with their nearest and dearest. The happy couple, Zuzana and James, chose the stunning venue for their big day and I was thoroughly delighted to be their chosen wedding photographer for their beautiful wedding day.
The weather on Zuzana and James’ wedding day was wind and rain, aside from a 15-minute break during the wedding breakfast. While you can plan to perfection most aspects of your big day, the weather is one detail the bride and groom are unable to choose and is often unpredictable. Unfortunately, due to the 80mph winds on the deck, the pier was closed which affected those beautiful photos we had talked about taking on the wedding day.
Always with a backup in mind to ensure the bride and groom get those perfect shots, I talked to Zuzana and James about other ideas to capture those dramatic photos. Agreeing with my ideas, we rushed off from the venue in the car during the wedding breakfast. I managed along with my colleague Leo to capture some amazing photos along the seafront, using Clevedon Pier as the backdrop. This would have been very tricky if I was shooting alone due to the high winds. My lights would have blown into the sea, however I always have extra equipment so we would have got the shots unless of course the bride and groom blew into the sea. Just kidding!
