Yvette & Lewis's Wedding Story
After receiving blessings from Maria and Salvador Alvarez for their daughter’s hand, Lewis set off to pursue a “yes” from Yvette. While in Paris Yvette had a professional photoshoot planned as she wanted to frame some photos for herself and for Lewis’ new house since they had just done portraits of the dogs.
“The night before the proposal we went for dinner and drinks on the Seine river in Paris, we stayed up super late so we weren’t feeling so good the morning after. Since I had booked the photographer well in advance I kept wanting to cancel the photoshoot because I felt really extra doing it," explained Yvette.
Unbeknownst to her (and made evident by lack of manicure), Lewis had reached out to the photographer to plan his proposal to her in the city of love. “The morning of the proposal Lewis was grumpy and seemed on edge but I just thought he was hungover so the idea of a proposal didn’t even cross my mind. Meanwhile I was acting silly and still feeling the effects of the night before so I kept cracking jokes that kept making him feel uneasy. When he finally did it toward the end of the photo session he was all shaky and nervous and then lost his voice. It was PERFECT, I said yes! It all felt like a DREAM. After the proposal Lewis even admitted to having thought of proposing in French. That confirmed it all to me.”
“Proposing to Yvette, was something I had been thinking about for over a year before it actually happened. I wanted it to be meaningful, special, and perfect. After much thinking, it was clear that doing it in Paris would be something that Yvette would adore. Having several months to prepare myself for what I was going to say to her, at the time of the proposal everything I had practiced was suddenly forgotten. I found myself down on one knee and I somehow managed to squeak out the words, “will you marry me?” said Lewis.
