Lorraine & Tim's Wedding Story
Every time I had a meeting with Lorraine & Tim I didn’t return to my office for at least an hour and the girls sent out a search party. They are the nicest, most laid-back couple I have ever had the pleasure of working with and so easy to talk to.
Lorraine (& Tim) delivered as I had imagined on the décor. Hiring the best florist in the Midlands who no longer works weddings anymore but made an exception for the lovely bride and the most tasteful colour scheme, I felt like I had walked into a royal wedding.
They had opted for our Sundown package in which we usually recommend a later ceremony, followed by cocktails and canapés and straight into an evening reception but Lorraine had altered things slightly to keep the traditional form with a table plan and seated BBQ buffet with the usual turnaround into an evening reception.
The wedding began with the civil ceremony carried out by our lovely Registrars and immediately after they left the building, Tim’s sister Linda blessed the couple in a wonderful religious blessing. A super emotional surprise touched us all when Linda announced that instead of blessing the rings they had already exchanged that instead she was blessing Tim’s late mothers ring, given to her by his father. There was not a dry eye in the house, including mine!
The flute and piano duo that played Lorraine down the aisle turned into a band in time for the cocktails and meal which gave the venue a further touch of class and rounded of the beautiful decorations and surroundings perfectly.
A beautiful day for a beautiful family on bank holiday Sunday at Newton Park – what a pleasure it has been. I’m sure I’ll be seeing them soon when they pop in for their usual glass of fizz.
