Why Did You Choose The Montagu Arms For Your Special Day?
We always knew we wanted an intimate wedding, and we have both always loved the New Forest Area. The Montagu Arms ticked all the boxes, in every aspect. After visiting the hotel and talking with Clara, our wedding coordinator, we had no doubt left in our minds that this was the perfect place for us.
The Flowers
We wanted a simple but elegant look for our wedding. We went with blush pink and white roses with gypsophilia on the table, and a gorgeous showstopper on the mantelpiece. We finished off the look with some candles and wooden details, which gave it a warm and cosy feeling during the evening. Mala our florist, really brought our vision to life!
We also wanted to add plenty of personal touches. We both enjoy being creative, so we decided to DIY our own wedding favours, and a ceremony booklet for the guests to take home. This gave our wedding a very personal feel.
The Food
The food was delicious and loved by everyone, from Canapés to dessert. We went with Salmon and Cod Fishcakes with Tartare Sauce and Rocket Salad as a starter, Confit of Duck Leg with Chorizo Cassoulet and Cavelo Nero for mains, and Hazelnut Financier with Banana Ice Cream and Candied Pecan as dessert.
We had a few guests with dietary requirements, and they were accommodated with ease and high praise for their food was received
From the weather to the food, everything was perfect, and our day was better than we could have ever imagined. The whole team at the Montagu Arms was extremely helpful and friendly, and accommodated us from beginning till end. Everyone also loved the unexpected visit of two photogenic donkeys, who loved the fuss our families gave them!
