The Real Wedding of Lauren & Jack

Lauren & Jack's Wedding Story

Nestled in Calderdale, part of the south Pennine Chain, lies the historic village of Rishworth and close by live Lauren and Jack. They planned their early spring West Yorkshire wedding knowing a limited number of guests would be able to attend the marriage ceremony, due to pandemic restrictions. Nevertheless, word travels fast in small Yorkshire villages, and it seemed as though half of Rishworth had decided to walk their dogs or take daily exercise at the same time, just to catch a glimpse of this magical event!

Lauren and Jack’s local church, St.John’s, was the perfect choice for this charming and intimate wedding. Constructed on raised ground in the early 1900’s, the building oozes period character with brick-faced walls, oak panels and exposed beams. The priest in charge, Rev. Stephen Southgate , conducted a warm and humorous marriage ceremony and his church was adorned with elegant flower arrangements by Cece Blooms Floral Design.

After a brilliant confetti shower, with local villagers joining in, and family portrait photography in St. John’s churchyard, Lauren and Jack where whisked back home for the wedding breakfast. Their convertible vintage Rolls Royce wedding car, complete with uniformed chauffer, came courtesy of Horsfields of Halifax. Although numbers attending their reception again had to be restricted, I am very much looking forward to travelling north again next year to photograph the happy couple's Much Bigger West Yorkshire Wedding Breakfast Celebrations!
