The Real Wedding of Laura & Steve

Laura & Steve's Wedding Story

I first met Laura, Steve and their young daughter at a wedding fair at their venue. It was around 5 months before the wedding and they had most things booked already. They were there looking for the final details to make the day perfect. One of my harpists was with me, performing to the guests, showing them what to expect if they booked a harpist for their wedding. Laura and Steve’s little girl was captivated by the instrument. She loved hearing the harpist play her favourite Disney tunes.

The couple chose to book the harpist for their wedding ceremony and drinks reception. As part of the ceremony they requested ‘Once upon a Dream’ from their daughter’s favourite Disney film, Sleeping Beauty. As Elvis Presley fans, they selected the timeless classic ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ for Laura’s entrance. The newly married couple exited to the more lively ‘Marry You’ by Bruno Mars. The harpist then entertained guests during the drinks reception with more Disney songs, and other pop, classical and film favourites.

I thought it was wonderful that Laura and Steve were so keen to make sure their ceremony was special for their daughter. By choosing music that she loved, they made sure she was a part of that moment. It’s these personal touches that make every wedding unique, and tell each couple’s personal story. Every time they watch Sleeping Beauty together now, they will remember the happiness of their wedding day!
