Juliette & Dean's Wedding Story
We met at work, a recruitment company based in Meriden. I worked in IT and Juliette worked in Marketing the floor below. Our paths didn’t cross that often for work, but I used to catch glimpses of this beautiful redhead walking around the building. During a lads weekend with another work colleague I admitted to taking a shine to Juliette! Since then it was my colleagues mission to set us up!. After a few dates it was clear we were both on the same wacky wavelength and things blossomed from there.
In August 2016 we took a summer holiday to Marmaris in Turkey. During one of the evenings I had arranged to have a private jetty setup with a private table with a candle lit meal. That was the moment I got down on one knee!
All went perfectly other than the swarm of local wasps that joined us for dinner! But Juliette battled through as it really was a special moment!
Our inspiration and vision came from The West Mill and its history. We wanted to create an environment where all our guests would feel relaxed and included. The unique and quirkiness of the west mill meant there wasn’t an organza bow on the back of the chairs anywhere in sight! And the natural feel of the building showed through. We asked my auntie to do a reading at the ceremony, in which she wrote an amazing poem that had people giggling in the aisle and we dressed people in aprons and chefs hats to carve the ‘host a roast’.
It was the culmination of a years worth of planning and excitement. Having the family explore the grounds of the West Mill only built up their excitement for the day and you could feel it in the room. The dim lights of the cotton quarter, the aisle candles and the snow falling outside, set a wonderful mood for the ceremony.
