Doug & Helen's Wedding Story
Doug and Helen were married at Hove Registry Office in East Sussex, celebrating their wedding day surrounded by love, family, and friends. Helen was beautifully given away by her two sons, who travelled all the way from Australia to be part of this very special moment.
The wedding ceremony took place in an intimate setting, with Doug and Helen surrounded by their closest family and friends, many of whom had travelled from across the world — some even arriving directly from the airport on the day to ensure they could share in the celebration.
The ceremony was photographed in a discreet and unobtrusive manner, capturing the emotion and key moments as they naturally unfolded. Following the ceremony, posed wedding photographs were taken in the grounds of the registry office, celebrating the newly married couple alongside their loved ones.
After the ceremony, celebrations continued at The Roebuck Inn in Hove, where the wedding breakfast was held. Once guests had enjoyed the meal, the wedding speeches began, including a particularly memorable best man’s speech. This heartfelt and humorous moment featured childhood videos of the groom and best man, highlighting Doug’s cheeky character, before ending with a wonderful surprise — Doug playing his original trumpet, which the best man had secretly kept for years.
The evening reception then began, marked by the couple’s first dance and the cutting of the wedding cake. Friends and family joined Doug and Helen on the dance floor as the celebrations continued into the evening, bringing their wedding day to a joyful and unforgettable close.
