The Real Wedding of Abbie & Ash

Abbie & Ash's Wedding Story

NORWOOD PARK WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY – ABBIE AND ASH

The day started with me capturing Abbie, her bridesmaid Luise and Abbie’s Mum Heidi getting ready at the penthouse suite at St James Hotel near Nottingham castle. The morning was friendly and relaxed, with the girls getting their hair and makeup done one by one while also enjoying a few glasses of bubbly, listening to Spotify and enjoying the fantastic views.

Once everyone was ready it was time to set off and head over to Norwood park for the wedding which was about 45 minutes away.

When I got to Norwood Park, Ash was making sure all the little personal touches were looking good before organising the buttonholes for the different family members.

It wasn’t long before the guests started to arrive, fighting against the strong wind that we had – no rain which was a bonus, but that wind was bloody cold!

Just as people were being asked to take their seat in the drawing rooms which would be the main ceremony room, Abbie pulled up in her wedding car and was quickly moved on to make sure that she and Ash didn’t see each other – which for tradition is important.

The wedding ceremony in the Drawing room at Norwood Park was beautifully done with the registrars on good form making sure that Abbie and Ash did all their legal duties in the right way, repeating the correct sentences, saying the right things and getting all the “I Do’s” in the right places.

Once the new Mr and Mrs Ensor had signed the wedding register and been showed with confetti when leaving the ceremony room, it was time for all the hugs, kisses and happiness of the drinks reception, which is my favourite part of the day as I get to capture all the emotions straight after a wedding ceremony.

Once we had done a few family formals, it was off outside to do a balloon sendoff; thankfully the wind had calmed a little bit by this point.

Next was the wedding breakfast and the speeches in the Gallery room which is an English Palladian style reception room with painted ceilings and large chandeliers, a great place to have the wedding breakfast.

The evening kicked off with a game of Husband and Wife, and then we were into the cake cut, and the first dance followed on by one of the busiest wedding discos I have seen in a long while – I could bearly get on the dancefloor to get photos!

I really enjoyed this Norwood Park wedding of Abbie and Ash – Everyone left me to get on and to do my thing – let me capture some great images that Abbie and Ash along with family and friends, will cherish.
