Vintage Wedding Dresses!

After not one, but two, of Britain's leading ladies recently tied the knot in luxurious lace, we bring you our pick of the season's must have vintage wedding dresses! Well, if it's good enough for Kate and Lily...

Since two of our favourite British brides have fallen in love with lace and said their vows in vintage so far this year, we've scoured the catwalks for our pick of this top trend!

Whilst successful singer Lily Allen recently wed beau Sam Cooper wearing Delphine Manivet, our delightful Duchess Catherine chose Alexander McQueen for her big day earlier this year, and although their vintage wedding dresses weren't strikingly similar, they had one thing in common — lace!

In a ceremony that took place at the weekend, Lily looked radiant in a retro gown which reflected her vintage style. The star — who is daughter of actor and musician Keith Allen — is renowned for her kooky style, and runs vintage shop 'Lucy in Disguise' with sister Sarah in London's Covent Garden. Created by Paris-based designer Delphine Manivet, her fishtail gown consisted of an under-dress, covered by a second lace dress, and featured pretty three quarter length sleeves.

She accessorised the vintage wedding dress with a 1920s full-length veil and floral embellishments which complemented her country Cotswold's theme perfectly!

What's more, who could forget Kate Middleton's take on the trend? Cast your mind back to April 29, and you might just remember the speculation surrounding that dream dress!

Kate certainly didn't let us down — she wore lace, and she wore it well! Marrying real-life Prince Charming HRH Prince William, she pulled off her Alexander McQueen gown effortlessly. Designed by Sarah Burton, the fabulous frock featured a lace appliqué bodice and skirt, paying tribute to a timeless trend.
