The Martello Quartet are a professional string quartet that cover Eastbourne & East Sussex and also available as a Trio or Duo.

The Martello Quartet first formed in 2014, having met through playing together in various orchestras around Eastbourne. Initially it was four professional players coming together to play some concerts, and out of this the Martello Quartet was born due to popular demand!

The quartet currently play regular gigs all over East Sussex and further afield. Recent months have seen the quartet performing at many weddings, evening functions and events, however the quartet do also come together to perform classical concerts regularly too. As well as performing as a quartet, Martello also regularly perform as a trio.

All the players are music college graduates and have performed for years with various quartets, as soloists and with orchestras. The Martello Quartet are also extremely versatile and as well as performing in evening dress playing classical, are just as comfortable playing for parties and festivals performing folk right through to popular music, and it is this breadth of experience that make The Martello Quartet perfect for your day.

The quartet has an incredibly extensive repertoire which is well sourced and regularly updated, appealing to all ages and tastes.
