Orchardleigh Estate

At first, my partner and I were impressed by Orchard Leigh Estate during our initial visit. However, this quickly changed once we paid our deposit. From that point on, the service completely deteriorated. We were handed a mountain of paperwork with minimal guidance, leaving us to navigate the process alone. While we understand that planning a wedding involves details, we felt as if our role had shifted from clients to mere numbers.

Communication was extremely poor. Despite numerous emails, they consistently addressed me by the wrong name; calling me Richard - my name is in the header, "To" section AND on the bottom of every email!! Aside from payment requests, it was near impossible to get a response or any meaningful engagement from their team. This lack of professionalism led us to cancel our wedding. As a result, we lost around £2,000, despite our efforts to request a partial refund through a polite, well-worded complaint, which was entirely ignored.

Since canceling, we’ve visited other venues and spoken with experienced wedding coordinators. To our surprise, several of them openly frowned upon hearing that we had considered Orchard Leigh, with some even stating that they refuse to assist clients who choose to get married there due to the venue’s reputation. That alone speaks volumes about their standing in the industry.

In summary, we feel we were sold a dream during our initial consultation, but once the deposit was paid, that dream quickly turned into a nightmare. Losing £2,000 is not just frustrating; it’s a lesson we hope other couples won’t have to learn.

Please do your research thoroughly before booking with Orchard Leigh Estate. We sincerely hope others avoid the disappointment and financial loss we experienced.

The venue is picturesque and beautiful and the wedding coordinator (Rachel) was so helpful in getting everything we wanted and worked tirelessly to ensure everything went smoothly on the day.

We wanted to get married outside but the weather was a bit iffy with thunderstorms forecast. A decision was made only 20 mins before to go ahead and it stayed dry throughout.

It then chucked it down during reception drinks which was fine by me. We had a piano player in the hall and the sound echoing through the house was wonderful. The food was delicious, the house wine too was very palatable and there was no stress with anything on the day.

We had about 3 months to turn around everything from booking to on the day and the team worked hard to ensure we had the perfect day.

We went for a show around and we were both so amazed by the beauty of the venue. The owner Chris showed us around and was super attentive to us.

Our venue is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous!! We fell in love with the manor house vibe and how welcoming the owners are, they go through every single thing with you and never felt pressured to book it. They accommodated a room for my very disabled nan, pub price pints and they even give you a place to stay the night after your wedding in the boat house to sink it all in honestly couldn't recommend this place enough

This venue is insane! The packages offered are really reasonable and you really do get ‘the best for less’ I cannot wait to get married here!

The whole experience was amazing!
The house and ground are stunning and make for amazing photos.
Our coordinator Annamarie was absolutely brilliant, nothing was too much! I sent ALOT of emails and every one was responded to with no distain for the amount of questions I had.
She was there on hand to make sure our day went without a hitch and we couldn’t have done it without her, an absolute credit to the business.

The food was fantastic, all our guests commented on how good it was. They catered for our vegan, vegetarian and gluten free guests. The evening hog roast was also amazing and went down great with the slightly drunk evening guests.

We were able to get in the day before to set up most of our decorations, which took away a lot of stress from the day. They had already set the tables up for us and were very accommodating when we had to loose a whole table due to guests not showing up.

The bridal suite was beautiful and flooded with light which made for great photos whilst we were getting ready.

We stayed in the boat house the night after our wedding, which again was lovely. Very peaceful with a beautiful view, the perfect place to relax after all the stress of planning and to unwind after the big day.

Annamarie was the biggest help and made sure our day was stress free and I didn’t have to worry about anything, I was so chilled everyone commented on how I was the least stress bride they’d meet

The only issue we had was with one of the staff members who told our DJ they had to turn the music off half an hour before midnight because it was too loud for the windows. We’d were never told about any volume restrictions. However, Annamarie dealt with the situation quickly and it was soon sorted.

What an amazing venue! Rachel is so attentive when doing the show round and it takes a long time to go round as there’s just so much to see! Having a 3 day package certainly takes the pressure off doing everything in one day and give you and your partner the day after to relax in the amazing boat house. Can’t wait to get married here!
