Intimate, friendly and great value
We chose Dalgarven as it is within an hour of our families based around Glasgow and loved the place.
We originally wanted one night only but were persuaded to take 2 to make things less rushed and boy were they right. It was only a few hundred pounds extra for the 2 nights.
18 of us stayed over the day before the wedding and received relaxing massage treatments. We were able to relax in hot tub with champagne and views of the river were stunning.
We got married in the conservatory with 50 day guests and with candles lit it was a magical experience. We had the private bar to ourselves and guests were able to mingle there before the wedding and enjoy a few cocktails.
We had a 3 course dinner in our package which was super tasty. We didn't get the buffet as the dinner was served at 6pm.
We had the superking bedroom and the bed was lovely and comfortable. The shower in en-suite was a little on the small side. The other bedrooms are nice enough but not luxurious.
What sets Dalgarven apart from others is the staff and setting. Our guests were known to the staff by end of stay and had their drinks waiting for them when before even ordering. The setting by the river is just lovely for photographs.
Our guests contributed to their 8 rooms for the 2 nights which means that the rental cost on exclusive use basis for us worked out amazing value at £2000.
