10 Historical York Venues

There’s something so romantic about a venue draped in history and York, as you can imagine, is full of them. We looked at 10 of our absolute favourite listed buildings that host weddings in the city famous for its history and heritage…

1. De Grey Rooms, St Leonard’s Place

This beautiful venue was built in 1841 and is Grade II listed. It was home to the famous York Hussars regiment and has plenty of historic features like a sprung dancefloor, 11 meter high glazed ceiling in the ballroom, glass chandeliers and fine detailing throughout. It had an elegant refurbishment in 2018 so it’s rich in heritage without looking outdated. You also have an amazing view of York Minster.
