Windout Barn is a family-run, homely wedding venue on a working organic Devon farm, offering a warm welcome, rustic charm and a beautiful space and relaxed space for events and weddings.
Windout Barn is much more than a wedding venue—it’s our home. Nestled in the rolling hills near Dartmoor in Devon, our working family farm has roots stretching back to the 11th century, and our beautifully restored medieval cob‑and‑stone barn echoes that rich heritage.
We believe in celebrations that feel warm, personal and completely yours. Offering exclusive three‑day use, the barn and grounds are yours from Friday morning through Monday midday—so you have time to set up, relax and savour every moment.
Inside, the space is charmingly flexible: there’s a cosy bar area plus the main barn with exposed beams and character. It comfortably seats up to 120ish guests at trestle tables, and if you’d like a little more room you can bring in extra tables or even a marquee/stretch tent on the terrace overlooking the Teign Valley.
We’re proud of our “blank‑canvas” approach: you can bring your own caterers, style the space how you like, and make Windout Barn truly reflect your wedding vision. The licensed bar is stocked, or you’re welcome to supply your own drinks via corkage—whatever suits your style. We have various drinks packages available to suit each couple.
While we are a friendly, laid‑back venue, we also take care of the essentials behind the scenes so you can simply enjoy the day. Our team will be on hand to ensure everything runs smoothly—without ever taking over your plans.
As a family‑oriented venue, we’re used to hosting all kinds of gatherings—from community pub nights to parties and weddings—so we know how to create a relaxed, homely atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. Felicity and Sam together with their family are proud to welcome couples to Windout Barn, our much loved home and working farm. Married with four teenage children, we love nothing more than seeing our barn filled with laughter, celebration and community. We’ve hosted everything from relaxed community pub nights to big family parties and, of course, the most beautiful weddings. Our role is to make sure you feel welcome, supported, and at ease. We are always happy to share creative ideas, offer a bit of gentle guidance, and help you bring your vision to life — without ever taking over your plans. Windout Barn is all about warmth, flexibility, and genuine hospitality. Whether you’re planning a laid-back country celebration or something more refined, we’re here to make your time with us feel special and truly yours.
